Any Covers You'd Like to See Mr Buffett Do?

Post by Pleasin & Teasin »

As Mr. Buffett seems to love doing covers of songs he admires, are there any songs you'd like to see him do?
apparently posting here is as good a way as any to send a message!! [smilie=hiya.gif]

I'd like to hear him do Jesse Winchester's Yankee Lady and James Taylor's September Grass!!

How about Brown Eyed Girl? Or Southern Cross? :P

I've only seen it on the Margaritavision VHS, but Another Saturday Night was great

In all seriousness, Jimmy can pick 'em and nail 'em when ever he wants. Jimmy and the CRB did Twist and Shout in Vegas a few years ago and I get parrot bumps just thinking about that night :D

He should do "Key Largo" originally by Bertie Higgins. If he recorded it, it would chart.

Sadly since he has become Jimmy Buffett Businessman he never writes anymore. It would be nice if he wrote more songs of his own.

I've been wishing he'd go this direction, and cover this song for a while now: Ma 'tit Fille - Buckwheat Zydeco

or even
On a Night Like This - Buckwheat Zydeco

and, yes, a few of his oldies but greaties would be nice to hear again.

Few suggestions...

1. Let It Be - The Beatles (seems like it would suit him)

2. Guitar Town - Steve Earle (Jimmy could rock this one.)

3. Walk of Life - Dire Straits (Again, just seems to fit.)

4. I Love This Bar - Toby Keith (not so much cause I like Toby or the song, but I'd love to hear Jimmy... modify... the lyrics to suit :pirate: )

I Love This Bar

Post by Bwana Paul »

He should cover the original version of "I Love this Bar" which was originally called "Tourist Town Bar" written by Michael McCloud.

Toby Keith stole the song from McCloud when he was in Key West. Toby Keith sucks.
