You really should come back here sometime and take me on that tour! What would be included? As a former Evanston girl, I may not have known all those favorite places further west of me!

probably still some beer cans in the rocks along Lake Michigan, just south of Northwestern. My sweat is still on Mt Trashmore from three years of running hills there. A piece of my heart is in McGaw Hall from losing the State Supersectional basketball game there in '73

I lived 4 blocks north of Niles West.

If nuthin' else, we'll meet you at Hackney's on Harms on of these Saturday's

btw, CRH.....ejr and I are conducting what is commonly know on BN as a hijacking. This is a nice one, usually they are hijacked directly into the gutter. However, Ellen and I are above that sort of thing

Speak for yourself :D :D :D

Hackney's, huh? My father's company supplied the potatoes, onions and cole slaw to Hackney's so I have lots of good feelings about them.

I live closer to Niles N, but help out at West so I know where you are talking about exactly!

And we may be hijacking this, but anyone and everyone can come and join us at Hackney's---we'll get the onion loaf ordered!

I used to live in glenview. gight around the corner from Hackney's on Harms rd.
I cut the hole in the fence in the woods near the 4th tee on Chick Evans Golf Course. Back then it was still Northwestern GC. We played 4 -8, dodged the clubhouse and then picked up again on 11. My family, pre-me lived on Harrison in Glenview and my brother still lives on Michael Manor near Golf Mill. My favorite bar was Grandpa's or Rugans right by the station. Went every Thursday night to listen to Whitey O'Day, "Singer of this and of that" I hear it is a mexican restaurant now

Everybody sing: "It's a small world after all....." [smilie=puking.gif]

I grew up closer to the one on Lake on the Wilmette/Glenview line...but when I get back in town, I can certainly find the one on Harms Rd., too.

Hey ChicagoRed, welcome to BN. :D

I actually think a gathering at hackneys would be lots of fun!

And myke---Meiers Tavern still does a great burger! My grandmother is the first person that took me there!

I used to go to meiers a lot when I worked at the shell station down the street. A couple of beers and a cheeseburger always hits the spot!
