Fingers

Post by LesPaul30 »

Is he or isn't he? Probably one of the bigger questions right now. After two shows this week and three for the year, and him showing up in NYC taking part in a bunch of songs, I feel pretty confident that he IS. Anyone differ?

Well... Cinci and Detroit seemed to have happened due to fortunate logistics. But last night? Unless there was something I wasn't aware of that had Fingers in town, seems Jimmy must have extended an invitation.

Who knows what it is or isn't, but it's pretty cool for the likes of me who weren't going to shows til after the departure.

I think he is definately back in the band. For a few songs right now. But, I think he will be a staple on next year's tour. About freakin' time!!!! Welcome back, Fingers!

Tiki-- I agree. Fingers playing the show last night wasn't just "fortunate logistics." He's playing with Mark Hummel this weekend in Wilmington and then Richmond. NYC is not exactly on the way there from MI. Makes it seem more like he joined the tour. :D

Someone pointed out last night Fingers' schedule has a conflict for the 10/28 Vegas date, but it sure seems he's around at least part-time again. (And Fingers' website says he plays on "Take the Weather With You".)

I think we in the Parrothead world like happy endings, so there's more to it than just hearing him create the magic again in APLA40.

But then again, some may remember this is the tour that features a different album every show (that concept lasted one show   ).

Only time will tell....

I kept saying after Tuesday night "How about he hops on the bus to NYC, and they'll drop him off on the way to Cali."

Apparently those words went from my mouth to Jimmy and Fingers' ears. :D

Especially being a parrothead who came on board after they split, I was so happy to experience this. :D

Sometimes more than others,

I, for one, was surprised to not see Sonny and Payne on stage in NY....so when Fingers walked out....SGH, shrinky & I started screaming! Not many around us knew who he was, but I will say that seeing Fingers 3 times in a week was quite a highlight to the summer..... :D

Besides, I doubt they're going to debut a new song without rehearsing.... :D

I came onto the Buffett scene after Fingers had already left. I got to hear him in Detroit. While I'm pleased that I got to hear him that once, I'd rather see AmyLee back than Fingers.

When Amy played the sax on APLAF it was the most beautiful I've ever heard that song played.

So I guess now I'm about Amy like all the old time fans are about Fingers :P :P

But no matter who plays with him, my main joy is that Jimmy is still singing and playing..... :D :D
