That song makes me think of Erie and listening to it on your laptop in the hotel room before we all went to the Festival :D

I concur 100%, not a weak link on the album. I have been counting days since seeing him last month. I was a little surprised by it only having 14 songs, but then that leaves lots of material for future live albums!!!!!

I got the Target version with the Bonus DVD:
1. Making of "Anything But Mine"
2. Keg in the Closet
3. The Road and the Radio
4. Cabo Photo Shoot

In the credits he gives a shout out to folks who have "shared the stage with us, given me inspiration, or been a part of the ride. Some are friends, some are heroes, some are both." Included in the list is Jimmy Buffett. :D

The CD was recorded at "various places over the past several years including Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN, Heinz Field, in Pittsburgh, PA, Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, CA, on a short stretch of beach on Nassau in the Bahamas and Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville, TN."
Some people never find it, some only pretend

OK dont hate me but...I have been meaning to say this for some time.....

Kenny Chesney is trying to incoorporate on who and what Jimmy Buffett is. I was watching CMT one day and they introduced him as "the original beach boy ( or bum )". He started off that video talking about how he spends his time in the islands, on a beach with a drink in his hand. I mean... COME ON!!!! I like his music too- alot - but i hate this copycat crap. Had he started out with that image, I may not have such a problem with it but that aint how he came out of the gate- pardon the pun. :pirate:

So Kenny....stop acting like Jimmy!!!!!!!

There's already been a thousand threads bashing Kenny.
Fact is he spends a lot of time in the islands.
Do you think all of the photos and videos of him in the islands are digitally modifed? I'm sure Jimmy has inspired him, heck, I play guitar and love the islands and if I were huge I'd be doing island music too.
If that makes me a copycat, so be it.

okay enough beating the dead horse

Well you and kenny arent the only musicians who do. Kenny all of a sudden has this whole beach sound going- complete with steel drums. Thats a far cry from "She thinks my tractor's sexy" lolol. Fact is, after the "Hey Good Lookin'" collaboration, a number of country artists have jumped on board. If it brings Jimmy more fans- GREAT! I spend time down in the islands myself but am not altering my career because I think it will get me a few extra bucks- OR my music for that matter.

Actually MANY musicians have altered their career mid stream when what they were doing wasn't working...or not working the way they wanted it to.

so with that said...I can't wait to get the new Chesney album...

Maybe it was the original Tractor Kenny that gave him the money to find Island Kenny

If I had his cash I'd be on a boat in the islands and not staring at Bloomberg screens in freezing cold Boston

Yep.

And last I checked, Jimmy wasn't the only guy allowed to sing about the islands...

Whether Kenny is riding on Jimmy's coattails or not
has certainly been discussed to death. I'm just happy
to have more island/beach flavored music to listen to.

In addition to Kenny, you can throw in other artists who
are cruising to the beach: Blake Shelton's"Some Beach",
Faith Hill's "Summertime", Toby Keith's "What Happens in Mexico",
Phil Vassar's "Six Pack Summer", "Blane Larson's new song(paraphrasing)"I Don't Know What She Said, But I Sure Like The
Way That She Said It", George Strait"The beaches of old Mexico",
Craig Morgan "Redneck Yacht Club" and others that escape me right
now.

It's obvious that Jimmy's island/beach music is "in" now and if more
artists release beach songs, that's fine with me. As much as I listen
to JB's music, it's nice to have some other songs to throw into the
mix once in a while. I'm also happy to have Buffettesque artists like
Scott Kirby, Sunny Jim, Jim Morris, Eric Stone, Hugo Duarte and the Coral Reefers CDs to add to the soundtracks of our lives.

I think KC would be the first on the list to thank JB for the influence he has had on opening up a whole new world to him...

...in fact I suspect the "notation" in the liner notes on the new CD is just a small public recognition of the "friend and hero" that JB is to Kenny.

It confuses how someone can criticize anyone for emulating JB, when most all of us here find our own way to emulate the man in our own life.

Hehe...living my life like a song.
