If and when he does "retire" - I know it will be a special tour, complete with shows at arenas, famous clubs, and other locations.

I'm surprised that Mr. Buffett never went the Phish route with a final 3 -day blowout a la "Woodstock". Basically find an old abandoned airfield, such as Limestone, Maine, sell tickets for a 3 day pass for camping, tailgating and other parrot-head madness, and perform whenever he wants over a 72- hour period. While Jimmy takes a break, performers he has worked with can take the stage and have a little fun. Guest appearances, Pay-Per-View for those who can't make it, cheeseburgers and margaritas everywhere, dogs and cats living together...... dammit- now I'm getting thirsty for a cold one.

I think you should be Jimmy's concert promoter because that sounds DAMN good to me!!!! :pirate:

...it just seems like the logical thing to do. Every year a city gets left out, so why not hype up an event a good six to eight months in advance? The hoetls, airlines, and bus companies would offer package deals, the sponsors would be all over it, and MANY parrotheads would go home happy.

3 Months Off

At Thursday night's show in Tampa, Jimmy made reference to having the next three months off.

I'd bet that's on the short end of the scale.

Well I know Jimmy will not play Memphis ever again he hates the damn Pyramid. I just hope he plays somewhere like Nashville or St. Louis this next year so I can take the Wifey to a concert. I intoduced her to the Jimmy phenom when we first got married and she has loved him ever since.

That would be amazing! I've been thinking about something like that since I went to the Cincy concert last summer. He could make a crazy video out of the concert and festivities and sale it...like when Garth Brooks had that HUGE concert in New York. It could be one of the biggest attendances ever! I'm there no matter where it is! Hopefully his retirement is a good ways away, though.

I feel as long as he is having fun, which I think he is, he will still be out there performing for all of us to enjoy. I was able to attend two shows this year and there was no end to the fun at either! The older he gets the better he performs it seems to me.

His voice was great this year and the band was tight.

Hoping that's a sign of more good times to come. :D

Still waiting on the info on the tix. As soon as I get the 411 I'll post the information....I'm sure someone will beat me to it though. In the meantime I'll have to settle for a JB Cover Band in January. Anyone heard of the Phins Band? They are excellent......especially for the middle of January in St.Louis. [smilie=thatworks.gif]

...never heard of 'em. It's tough to see a Buffett cover band when the weather is cold (even though it's 55 degrees in CT today).

My 2007 wish list...

...the different album featured every show becomes a reality this year

...Jake plays even more shows than he did this year

...several old favorites come out of the vault for the concert season

...pre-sale concert tickets available for registered BNers

...and lots and lots of sunshine every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
