google still up for me. BTW, I saw a cool show on TV about a houseboat community in Seattle. Actually they are not allowing any more houseboats in due to over crowding. So people are flipping them like condos. Sounds like a new song to me.

we are buying a sailboat for this summer. The goal is to spend the next 5-10 years getting good at this and then attempting a form of the cruising lifestyle.
BTW- I heard from a couple people on another board that google wasn't working for them so you are not alone.

Funny you should mention that. Last time we were in KW the taxi driver who took up to the airport was telling me that he and his wife live aboard a sailboat all year and stop at different ports every once in a while to work and accumulate money, then move on. He said that they take turns working and as his wife was working as a waitress in Mexico last time, it's now his turn so they sailed into KW and he got a job as a taxi cab driver. Basically they just bum around the gulf. Sounds like a good life, but my other half isn't upto it yet. Maybe someday.OceanCityGirl wrote:we are buying a sailboat for this summer. You just described our retirement plan (except we're thinking we'll set up a website and do day sails at different ports instead of working crap jobs)!CrznDnUS1 wrote:Funny you should mention that.
