I don't think anything could spoil the fun of this new record.

OK folks let's all put the kool aid down . Once again Jimmy has thrown out another extremely crappy album that he knows will sell so many units and make him a little juice. Believe me folks I'm one of the biggest Buffett fans around but could someone tell Jimmy that he doesn't need to roll out an album every year. Maybe every two or three years , this way he may have two or three decent songs to put on the album.

Pablo, creating a second screen name just to try getting a "popular groundswell" of negative press for the album? :D

last 3 studio albums:
License To Chill - 2004
Far Side Of The World - 2002
Beach House On The Moon - 1999

On my calendar that isn't an album every year.

Not exactly. Bora Bora is right except for the album every year comment. You people are so looking forward to anything buffett puts out, it could even be crap and you would like it. I would have loved to be here when DSTC came out, but again, you love everything he puts out. I'm just a skeptical fan that does nto like mediocrity, and buffett has been doing a lot of that lately. With the guests that he has on this album it should blow people away, instead its the exactly opposite.

With these country albums, always remember this jimmy: You can't polish a turd. And its unfortuate that this album sucks just as bad as LTC.

Country music doesn't work for you buffett, you don't need to sell albums ( I know all the 'necks on here will say something about how LTC was Buffett's best selling album, true...but how many rednecks bought the album b/c of Chesney, Black, Williams, and Keith?) and alienate your fanbase at the same time. But I should stop, b/c this is the same fan base that would buy $hit if it had a Margaritaville logo, and/or a reference to a Buffett song. I'm just bummed out b/c the last good album was Far Side of The World, and that even had some covers...but I won't go there with that....

I have to disagree. Despite the mediocre sound quality on the Amazon clips, I think that musically this is among Jimmy's best.

Besides, how incredibly offensive your comments must be to the fine musicians who make up the Coral Reefer Band..... :-?

:-? Pablo, charming isn't exactly your forte....

Disagreement, although perhaps not popular on this site, is okay...but your whining, poor taste and insults aren't necessary. :x

Unlike LTC, Jimmy's never said TTWWY is a Country album...it's been placed in that category for marketing purposes (distribution agreement with RCA Nashville).

It sounds to me like Jimmy had a great time making this album, looking for great songs by other people. And I can't see what is wrong with that.

With all of the turmoil in this country, what is wrong with fun, light-hearted music. It seems to me that is exactly what Jimmy does best.

George Strait has 53 number one hits.... I'm not sure if he wrote any of them, but he certainly didn't write the majority of them.....

This is so reminiscent of past conversations about ditching the slide guitar....which, IMHO is a poor idea, because it really adds to a number of JB's songs.....

In any case, a lot of older JB songs have a decidedly country sound to them - it's not out of his realm at all, nor anything new, but Jimmy has always added his own sound that makes him difficult to pigeon-hole into one particular genre for all of his songs.

I actually don't own much with the M'ville logo on it, nor would I buy something 'just because' it was put out by Jimmy, M'ville or Mailboat. I listen to or look at what is put out, then decide for myself whether I want it or not.

In this case, THWWY will definitely be in my cd library.

Whining and poor taste? Because I disagree with you, who are you to call me out? You're exactly the type of PH i'm talking about it. It's not insults, its just fact... its mediocrity. If you want to accept it, sobeit. I won't and haven't for the past 3 years. So live in your ho hum world where buffett can do no wrong, and get off of that positivity high horse. I am just commenting on his music. Not your taste or my taste. So, I really don't appreciate your attacks on me b/c of my opinion...even though it differs from everyone here.

TTWWY is a country album, even though JB's never said it is. And if you can't see that, you can't see the forrest through the trees my friend. Just take it easy, its just music.

But jimmy pays them to make songs for this record. They are just hired musicians, awesome musicians yes...but they are still hired help. Although how bad jimmy is on stage, missing notes, keys, forgetting lyrics, he has surrounded himself with talented musicians to bail his ass out, almost nightly.
