mroc and I are going here next weekend to check out the sailboat show. Anybody ever been to this, or this town?
What else is there to do? Where's a good place to eat? I'm thinking about doing a sail excursion while there too. I would have liked to stay the night and do the weekend but I think with the boat show in town booking a place this late might be impossible or $$$.

If you can, be sure to take some time to look around at the Naval Academy. It has been years since I visited up there, and post 9/11 things may have changed. My recollection is that it is, bar none, the most beautiful college campus I have ever set foot on.

Depending on how much time you have, Baltimore and DC aren't far drives and each have endless possibilities of things to do.

Nahh, there's absolutely nothing to do.
No reason why anybody would want to come.
I'd skip it.
Move along, pholks, nothing to see here.

hehe same here in ocean city, nj. Especially on a hot sunny beach sort of day. Stay away, even during sunny fall weekends. Nope you really want to go to wildwood.

Last time i was there, had to park in the Navy stadium parking lot. Buses took us to the harbor. There is plenty of eating in the area. Never had a bad meal there. Buy your tickets in advance and same $$. If you make contact with a vendor in advance you may even get a free pass or 2. It is a great show. Expect a very large crowd. Personally I wouldn't try to sail around Anapolis that weekend. There is too much to see at the show. We like just walking around town.

Quite right. This is common practice for many big events in Annapolis. The Marine Corps Stadium is just west (across College Creek) of the Academy and downtown Annapolis. There is plentiful parking (compared to downtown) and the shuttles are free for most events.

To reach the Marine Corps Stadium take U.S. Route 50 to Roscoe Rowe Boulevard (Rt 70). The Stadium is on the right, just past Weems Creek.

We went three or four years ago and had a great time. We only were there for the afternoon (Alan was ready to kill me because my back went out slightly in the morning and we had to wait until it felt better). We didn't get a chance to walk around the town, but I would love to do that. Maybe next time. It looked like a fun place.
The last time I took a tour of the Naval Academy was long ago as a stopover on my high school senior year trip to D.C.

OCGirl, Don't miss the Rams head tavern, has great food and always a live show. Check out their web site at ramsheadtavern.com

We have seen Jerry Jeff there twice bac when we lived in the area.

Just walking around the old town is a great way to spend the afternoon. be ready for crowds at the boat show though.
