I've had club tickets at a few shows, they're not that great. The advantage is you don't have to deal with ticketmaster and I think you only pay the cost of the ticket, none of the extortion fees TM adds.

exactly. In Cinci, the tickets are off to the left, in the upper section of the bowl. Not bad, but now that the prices have gone over $100, not exactly the best deal.

With this year's ticket prices, we didn't even use our allotment. And, I get separate tickets anyway because each ticket must go to a qualifying member...you can't include a friend or non-member if they didn't qualify. So, you can't sit with non-member friends.

Buckeye PHC usually takes 50 or so of the allotment, based on the size/math, etc. This year, there were 19 requested. This was also the first year that there wasn't even enough support for a bus trip down. remind me to tell you a story on the "qualifying" part...

I actually got BETTER tickets through ticketmaster than I did through the club.

Granted they were a littler further back, but they were center rather than way off to the side.

I used a club ticket to be behind the stage at Mohegan Sun
(definitely a livelier group back there than most of the arena),
but I bought lawn tix for Great Woods even though I qualified
for the club tickets. I preferred to have room to dance instead
of being farther up in the pavilion where some people get huffy
about people that actually stand and dance during the show.

Now if the club tix were near the stage that would be another story...

Last year I got better tickets for Wrigley buy ordering them online when they went onsale then I would have with club tickets. In fact I am on the clubs exec board and I wasnt even going to get tickets for the day I wanted.

Tickets got so expensive this year(and for Tinely Park) I think only 2 club members used club tickets.

our club allows for "Selling" tix but only to a member of another PH club..

The Wrigley tickets were offered to season (baseball) ticket holders first. We have a friend who got hers that way and we joined her group- they had a 6 ticket limit. We had good seats that way.

So in a related PHC quandry... the 2 clubs nearest to me are both one hour away in larger cities. Around here an hour away is sort of a pain, since we are used to everything being 10 minutes away. I have sort of put them out of my mind due to the distance but am interested in know how far others travel to play with their PHC friends. I am not so much in it for the tickets, but for the general entertainment factor.

you have to be a member of Asskissers R Us to get that

Our club uses a merit system. You earn 10 points for being an officer, 10 points also go to the newsletter editor and our web page editor. and you earn 2 points for every meeting you attend, and 5 points for attending a fundraiser or a volunteer event. Then when the tickets come we start with the top parrot point getters and work our way down. this year our club had about 50 members, and I think we got 8 tickets, which in case anyone didn't know, the individual members must pay for. whew...that could be my longest post ever!

Be that as it may, I was asking if they get 1st dibs on tickets and apparently there seems to be at least some sort of system in place.
RinglingRingling wrote:perhaps BFA could sleep with a scalper for better seats... :)
Got great Vegas floor seats in '04 at face on ebay. Usually I get lawn so seat locations don't matter. Luckily ticketmaster only denied me 1 concert but I ended up not being able to go if I had tickets away (blessing in disguise?).

Exactly my point for this thread, asking if Parrot Heads Clubs get 1st dibs on tickets, reason for joining a club notwithstanding.

Even if you could get lawn seats through some club on margaritaville.com (or buffettnews.com), more tickets would go to more fans initially and that's what counts most.
