But seriously, Jimmy travels all over the planet, sails the seas and lives a life most can only dream of. He HAS to have more song material than he knows what to do with...why not use it?

Honestly, I don't care who writes the music, i just hope that when I buy a CD, i enjoy the songs on the CD. If Buffett released a CD with nothing but songs like Math Sucks, Hokey Pockey and Altered Boys, I probably won't buy it (because IMHO they aren't really good songs).
But this new CD has some really great tunes; who cares if they are covers, they are good songs and I enjoy listening to them.
I guess we have to ask ourselves why we buy CD's. Do we buy music just becuase someone we like wrote the songs (even if they aren't all that good) or becuase a song touches us in someway that makes us reflect on an event in our lives or takes us out of a bad mood or day and puts us in a happier place.
If Jimmy wants to cover a song, who really cares, as long as its a good song. And from what I gather from listening to this CD on CMT there are some really good cover tunes on this Album.
