you know those ones that are giant and covered in caramel, nuts, chocolate, etc.
Have you ever made them. Here's a pic http://www.fabulousfoods.com/cgi-bin/Ma ... pples.html
I'd like to try these. I'd also like to send a couple to my niece in college and I'm wondering how that would be shipped.

Yum!!!

I don't ever SEE apples that big to make them.....
But I do make caramel apple pie.. just take about 15 Kraft caramels - (cut into 4's)
3 cups of chopped apples (1/2 inch) leave the skins on!
mix with 1 cup of flour, 2t. lemon juice and 2/3 c. caramel ice cream topping. Pour the mixture in a frozen pie crust and top with 1/2 c or so of pecan pieces. Bake for 45minutes... the caramels melt perfectly and if you top it off with a little vanilla ice cream it is the best fall dessert!!!!

double yum!!!

yeah - it's the best - and it is SOO easy. I used to work at KidsPeace in Allentown and we were on a 350 acre apple/peach orchard - they didn't cut all the trees down so in the fall it was free pickin - we put a recipe book together of just apple recipes.. too funny. I miss the fall up there for sure - but at least I still have the pie!!!

We used to have an apple tree in our backyard, but when we built the addition on our house it had to go..... :(
Few things in life are better than a super crispy apple right off the tree!!
