Post by phjim »

From Billboard.com: Jimmy Buffett takes his country-tinged RCA set "Take the Weather With You" to No. 4 on the big chart and No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart with 121,000. 2004's "License To Chill" debuted at No. 1 in 2004 with 239,000.

Yeee Haw! Image

Now that all the Parrotheads have bought it, I wonder if country music fans will continue to purchase the CD?
(This probably accounts for the initial difference in sales from the "License To Chill" CD.)
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

I did my part buy not only buying Take The Weather With You, but by downloading the new Evanescence album for a friend. Thereby keeping that album from being purchased one more time. And no, my download wouldn't have counted as a purchase, trust me. [smilie=whistle.gif]

I'm trying to remember back a couple of years if License To Chill debuted at #1 on the BIG chart or just on country. Anybody?

LTC debuted at #1 on both charts and sold over 100k each of the first 4 weeks;

Week.....Units Sold.....Country Rank.....Overall Rank
1............239,000.............1......................1
2............148,000.............1......................2
3............117,000.............1......................4
4............101,000.............1......................3
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

I still haven't bought it. I plan on it, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Maybe my wife is right. I am a procrastinater(and a bad speller).

(just kiddin' & duckin' for cover...)
A most mysterious calling harbour
So far, but yet, so near
Where I see the day
When my hair's full gray
and I finally...disappear. BUT NOT YET!!

I bought it, but have't received it yet here in the country that is still about 50 years behind the times. Just takes a little while for things to get to us down here.

Way to go JB.

The more parrotheads he has the more albums will hit the charts! :pirate:
