Trying the first day to get them at 10:00 on TicketBastard, you'll have little to no luck.

Keep checking TM, they usually release more seats as the concert date nears, unused band tickets, unused sponsor tickets, etc....

Or, find a reliable scalper and give him your first born.

Well you are already off to a good start.

Now start saying everything Jimmy does is good and perfect.

Kiss the right people's butts on here so you can be "in the know"

and TADA you'll get them.

OR

Spend all your hard earned dollars and go through a scalper

OR

Win the lottery

If his ticket prices remain the same ($$$ for pavilion or lower level seats) that will improve your chances. It's amazing how many people bought extra tickets that their friends backed out  on later. At DTE this year I put a limit of $100 per ticket on the pavilion seats this year and that's what I paid. I didn't have the best seats but I had a roof over my head. My opinion is that these artists are in the process of pricing their fans out of attending so the ticket brokers should end up with more and more seats availabe as the concerts get closer. Also, it helps to be flexible as far as people seating together. Party together with your friends before the show, party in the concert with your new phriends inside the venue.... My 2 cents.

We have not bought tickets from T-B@stard since 1991. We get to the lot when it opens. Depending on the venue (Alpine for us usually) we have found anywhere from the eighth row on back for at or near face value

I usually go on TM the minute they go on sale and that dosen't always work. I always see tickets for about 2x face on ebay which is not good either. But as said earlier they usually put more tickets on sale like the week before the show which is a gut churner. Just keep trying. It helps top be flexible, like I wanted to go to Camden but got shut out but I did get tickets for Jones Beach.

I have NEVER been shut out getting tickets at a TicketMaster outlet. I have also been fortunate enough to get orchestra seats including the front row many, many times.

That said, here are my tips:

1. Forget attempting to get tickets solely via telephone or online. Have this be your backup plan by getting someone else to try online for you.
2. Find a TicketMaster outlet that DOESN'T DO A LOTTERY. There are plenty out there. Do some homework.
3. The above non-lottery TicketMaster outlet should ideally be far away from the venue.
4. GET THERE EARLY. For the past 8-10 years I have camped out AT LEAST 24+ HOURS for tickets. Being #2 in line isn't good enough for me.
5. Assuming you are #1 or #2 in line, order ONLY two (2) tickets. Asking for the max will get you much poorer seats.

In my recent experiences, only the first 2 or 3 people in line at the location I went to got pavilion tickets. #4 and beyond were relegated to the lawns. #15 and beyond were likely SHUT OUT completely.

I realize not everyone has the ability to drive 2+ hours away to a remote TicketMaster location and camp out for 24+ hours. But this practically guarantees you tickets, and frequently EXCELLENT tickets (just ask Auntie).

Plus it's been my experience to have a great time tailgating that 24 hours (usually in cold March weather) with fellow Parrotheads while we wait for tickets to go on sale. We usually tell curious onlookers who ask "What are y'all in line for?" that we are "waiting for Disney On Ice" tickets or "Wham" tickets (or something equally ridiculous) to go on sale.

If the only effort you are able to put into getting tickets is online or on the phone ... well ... it's not really TicketMaster's fault. You're competing with too many people at the same time via those methods.

I guess I must be unusually lucky. I only get my tickets online and I've been as close as the 3rd row (3 times), rows 4-10 about 6 or 7 other times and always in the pavilion. And like I said in my earlier post, this year was the first time I couldn't get tickets to all the shows I wanted to go to and I only missed out on one (I've been to 8 Buffett shows so far this year with at least one more to go).

If you are flexible on venue and date, you can also get from scalpers cheap. If you go to venue such as Indy during week (which it has been for a while) you can call a scalper the day before and get pavillion for under face. Harder for weekend shows, but still possible if you are patient. If shut out, go to show and get em there. Especially with scalpers gobbling up so many and the higher prices, they are not reselling as easy and at last minute they will dump them.
You save money and get to stick it to scalpers :D

Call Ticket Bastard 15 to 20 minutes before tickets go on sale, But don't call the TM local to the venue going on sale. If tickets are going onsale for Florida call Nevada, or New Jersey call Alabama. Get a sales person on the line and stroak him/her for local sports tickets... multiple dates, seats, whatever. Keep your eye on the time... a minute or so before tickest go onsale ask the sales person about the Buffett tickets. You'll already be in the system so you avoid the endless busy signal and if you have been nice to the TM sales rep, i.e. flirt, joke around, you get the idea, they will enjoy the hunt as well. I usualy get good tickets this way. Keep in mind I'm not saying the other ways don't work... I'm only saying this has worked for me. If you don't get the tickets you want, Don't Settle... let the nose bleed seats go... Just return regularly to TM 2 weeks to a week before the show... the key is regularly. They always release additional seats, good seats, weeks befor the show. They do this to burn the scalpers. If your a non beleiver... go to ebay or other scalper sites days following the on sale date. You will find entire sections not represented. This is because they never went on sale.... Good luck!

My husband and I went to a TM outlet at 5:30 AM. He was 6th in line. The guy who was 5th in line said they would be close to being shut out because they first 4 were college students each buying with CASH! Takes longer to process. He did get 4 pavillion tickets (Nissan) :D but was the last one to get them. I had our laptop in the car. We thought we could use the wireless connection but we couldn't get into college campus (George Mason) system. The folks in line gave us the idea that we couldn't buy Charlotte tickets in VA. :o I ran home with the laptop and logged into our TM account (set up already) and got 5 tickets (2 pavillion and 3 lawn) for Charlotte.
Calling has never got us anywhere. :(
One year we got tickets through a dealer - we were desperate and paid through the nose. But the seats were amazing.
Next year we will camp out and be first or second in line.
Have your TM account set up before - it really saves time. And be online and ready to click at 10:00 and not a second later! [smilie=battingeyes.gif] [smilie=battingeyes.gif] [smilie=battingeyes.gif]
