I hope all the iPod owners caught this article yesterday. Seems like the most recent version of iPod video shipped with a little something extra.

Entire Article

On Monday, Apple released a statement on its Web site noting that a "small number of video iPods shipped with a Windows virus," which the company identified as RavMonE.exe. The number of affected iPods is small--less than 1 percent of all video iPods available for purchase after September 12, 2006, the company said in its statement, adding "as you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it."

Please keep in mind that something similar could happen on ANY memory device you purchase. Always scan USB flash drives, external hard drives, and DIGITAL CAMERA MEMORY STICKS! A customer let me use their SD card to take some photos. When I went to upload them, my computer found a virus on the SD card.

Good words of advice! Thanks for them.

One would THINK that when you get something right out of the box it would be virus free. I'll now check everything new and not assume that it's ok

My favorite came from a USB flash drive that I picked up at Wally World. One of its "features" is that it came with Firefox and some storage software. You plug it into your computer an *BAM* Firefox opens up to their webpage.
