Have y'all ever heard that cat temperaments are linked to their color?
For instance, the tortoisehells are always very quirky.
Yellow males are always very vocal and friendly...
White cats with eyes of two different colors are always deaf...
I heard this from one of those crazy cat ladies who had 40 cats!
I've heard that white cats with blue eyes are usually deaf, but nothing about bicolor eyes. I hadn't heard that about the yellow/orange guys, but every orange tabby I've ever met has been a great snuggly kitty, so I would believe it!!
Also, show cat standards include temperment, so all well bred kitties of a certain breed should have similar personalities- Sphynxes (the "hairless" kind, like my baby) should seem like part cat, dog, monkey and child, while Persians should only serve as huge furry snotty decorations.

I've had several blue-eyed white cats, the last one Baby, died of FELuk...
NONE of them were deaf.....selective hearing perhaps, but that's true of most cats..
my current white cat, Pyewacket, has greenishh-yellow eyes, he's very elusive and anti-social during the summer months, but becomes quite a different cat when it becomes cold outside...
he was a resuce and I've had him since he was a very small kitten...
Hey, Rick, doing great here on the Coastal side of Georgia, anxious for a little cooler weather....

at Persians... they're not the brightest bulb in the toolshed...
Some kitties do seem like part monkey... and I've got a brown striped
tabby that thinks he's a dog -- wrestles with my chow mix! Even sticks his
head in the dog's mouth with a serene expression on his face, like "ohh...
that feels good!"
When I get a good enough video to send to Animal Planet I'll let yall know.

I do believe my cat was insulted!

So, he doesn't come when he is called, hides and watches me search for him when I think he might have gotten out, doesn't like to be held and his way of showing affection is by sitting next to me. . then leaves when he has had enough. That doesn't make him snotty. . it pretty much makes him a cat.
This picture is not going to help my argument. . Yes. . this is his bed

Karin! He's gorgeous! My two previous kitties were silver chinchilla persians (think fancy feast commercial) They were lovely and sweet kitties. And not too bad in the brains department either!
My current kitty Nutmeg has a log bed that matches ours at the cabin

My sister said to me years ago. . "Your cat doesn't have much of a personality" I said. .

He does. . he just doesn't like anybody but me. Which is true. . I can't leave him with anyone or have anyone watch him. . brat!. . but he is my brat!
Persians are great. . but anyone who is thinking of getting one. . think twice. . or get one that matches most of your clothes and furniture. . the hair is unbelievable!
And he never uses that bed. . but it matches mine too!

He makes a beautiful furry decoration!! And there's nothing wrong with a cat being a snotty decoration if that's what you want. My cat's a completely codependent snugglebug, which was what I wanted. I feel bad having the puppies because she isn't in my lap all the time now. But she does sleep under the covers cuddled up against me all night- we spoon more than my husband and I do!

And here are my babies:
This is my Diamonds- she's a retired Grand Champion Sphynx. She's in the first shirt Tom left at my apartment- she just loved crawling in it!
This is his cat Senna, a Maine Coon. He's huge- probably 18 pounds and we just stopped feeding him kitten food (we were trying to put weight on him).
This is Guiness in her Hawaiian shorts when she was 3-4 months old:
Here are the monsters, Guinness and Vader, now (well, last week!)- This picture is kind of deceptive. Vader's about 60 pounds and Guinness is a little over 40- and they're only 5 months old!

<-------- My first child, Smokey ... who disappeared back at the end of March - just 6 weeks shy of her 21st birthday.
She had an
awesome personality and was
very protective of her "younger siblings" - my human kids! On several occasions she even attached dogs that were frightening them - one was even a Rotweiller/ Doberman mix!

I still miss her very much.

Rusty the cat used to sleep at Mrs. Play's feet, but she's not his favorite person since having the baby...

That's about the funniest looking animal I've ever seen.

And she has the personality to match!
I choose a picture where you can't tell how big her butt is at least!
And Bill, I had a cat that looked just like Rusty while I was growing up!! He was a great cat, but our crazy neighbor insisted he was getting into their trash, so my grandparents were going to take him- except he escaped when we got there, and we never saw him again. I have never seen any animal run that fast before.

I find that Sphynx kitties are much better in person. The pictures really don't do them justice. We had one at our Santa photo shoot last year. He was adorable, but the picture really turned out less cute.
He felt just like he was wearing suede.....

any pure white cats with blue/red eyes I've had, had definite mental deficiencies. They really did.
I had a cat named Pyewacket too.

Oh, Larry's met her! He still thinks she's funny looking. And I don't disagree, but she has the best personality!! She's just so outgoing for a cat- she made friends with the pit bull next door! I don't know if it's just their nature or if it's the show background, but she's constantly posing too!

Kasey is just a few months old... she is a Weimaraner/Chocolate Lab... I haven't gotten to meet her yet b/c I've been at school
We lost Astro in June, 2006, she was a Weimaraner, 15 yrs old
And last week my parents had to put Abby our Bassett Hound down... she was 13
