Jimmy's coolest song...ever?

My favorite song from TTWWY is still BIBOMO.

Jimmy called it "long and wierd"....

The pulsing banjo, dancing trumpet, Nadira's shimmering vocals, Sonny's swampy guitar, the double bass, piano, laid back verses and driving chorus.... You can feel the mystical voodoo in the sultry, steamy air, thick with those eternally restless souls...it's the echo of Mardi Gras.

Wheel Inside the Wheel...just WOW!!

Krewe of crossbones....? Hmmmm......

Funny - it's the one song I don't really like all that much. Love the lyrics, love when Jimmy SINGS - I can't stand when he 'talks' on a song. :-?

First time I heard it I thought it would be a good idea to drop Piece Of Work from the set list and replace it with Wheel Inside The Wheel.

You're hearing one of these on both songs. It's what sounds like a banjo:

yep. it looks almost like the picture above, but the particular one you're hearing has mother-of-pearl in place of the white plastic. I have a picture at home I can post or send you later.

As I listened to Wheel a little more, I thought it might be a good song to open the show with. Start off slow and keep building, enjoy the Mardi Gras atmosphere. I think it is very powerful. Not my favorite on the album by any means, but I bet it makes it into the set list this year.

When listening to the CD on RM before the release date, Wheel Inside The Wheel is the song that captured my excitement and made me want to buy the CD more than anything.

My 15 yo son is begging to go to mardis gras.... because of that song!

Having lived on the gulf coast my whole life, I can tell you that Mary Gauthier NAILED the electricity and spirit of Mardis Gras with this song.

Now... having listened to the CD about a hundred times, I can tell you that it's not my favorite song on the CD. But it has the best hook and the arrangements are amazing.

Exactly how I feel about this one. WOW. I like all the songs on this CD but I LOVE Wheel, Elvis Presley Blues, and especially Silver Wings. This collection is just an absolute winner in my book. :D

It's my family's favorite song on the album.

I move from one favorite to another every couple of days, really. BIBOMO was my favorite in the beginning. Right now I totally dig Duke's on Sunday and Nothin' But A Breeze.

although I don't dislike Wheel inside a wheel as much as I originally did, I certainly wouldn't even put in in my top 50 favorites.

BIBOMO is my favorite, every day, hands down. Second favorite is Here We Are.

After that, it depends on my mood. WITW is next, most days. But Hula Girl At Heart and Nothin' But A Breeze are always right in there.... And Everbody's On The Phone is, too....

There's not a song I DON'T like on this album....

I'd like Hula Girl At Heart a lot better if it was in the setlist and Heather was still in the band.
