not sure if this is the right board for this discussion or not. but, i need a someone with much more musical knowledge than I have.

Saw Etta James in concert this week. I need to know if this is her normal type of show.

She was probably on stage for thirty minutes (her band, THE ROOTS BAND, on stage for 60) Her first number "I just want to make love to you" she probably grabbed herself more than any rap star I've ever seen. She finished during the song where she introduced the band.

I know the show ended earlier than scheduled. What I think happened? I think she got p*** at the audience. you know how during a show, during quiet moments, people will shout out song titles and other things?? The people that will shout the same thing over and over? I think she became irritated with a couple of them and just said f_ _ _ it, i'm done.

Gee, she's kinda a legend and isnt she kinda old? Maybe she wasnt feeling well. I bet it was great anyway.

Etta James is an amazing character - a survivor in the record business perhaps 20 years longer than Jimmy! She definitely has a feistiness and a temper, and it's unfortunate that she cut the show short. Here is an excerpt from the allmusic.com website (a great resource) regarding the grabbing:

I saw her..OMG!! the Weekend after Jerry Garcia Died..
she was fantastic.. but it was a big show with
several artists..
