My take...and I am not being critical. I love hearing Fingers probably as much as crawfish.

Fingers was not playing on a lot of the songs before he left the band. Jimmy was changing directions on songs and featuring others of the Reefers.

Fingers wasn't doing anything but standing on the stage a lot of the time looking uncomfortable playing some tamborine or whatever!

It sure was nice to hear him featured on the songs that he did last night, but it is also nice that Jimmy has Sonny Landreth, Billy Payne, Jake Shimabukuro, and others who have joined in for shows. This surely gives the shows some freshness. Just like when Fingers joined them, they seemed to be energized again. As they seem to be with Jake joining in!

One of the best shows I ever saw was Fingers and Mac play at the Paramount in Austin. I can just imagine how wonderful a show with the THREE Mississippians would be!

I'm glad Jimmy and Fingers patched things up well enough that Fingers is onstage at ALL....

i guess everyone just gets so f**ked up, they don't care about the music anymore. I'll take Fingers over some "Do Ho' wannabie!...................sorry Jake

as long as you opened the can of worms on expression of personnally-held beliefs, her opinion (in yours) might be worth as cup of coffee; same as your opinion's value in mine. The fact that you get to express yours, means that she gets to express hers. Without being targeted or ridiculed. Unless you want to make yourself open to the same treatment.

My comments stand....I don't get why you (general you) have to insult one musical choice because you'd (again, general) prefer more of another....it's apples and oranges as others have said.

I haven't heard any reason why Jake is a worse choice musically/professionally then Fingers and how his being on stage prevents Fingers from playing.

Jake is an absolute master of his craft and may very well be the best damn ukelele player on the planet

Robert is a pioneer on "the pans" and has been involved in the evolution of steel drums as we know them today - I'd say that makes him another master of his craft

and Peter, Ralph, Mac, Jim, Roger, Fingers, etc. They are all wonderful musicians and many would say they are some of the best in the world at what they do. They ALL bring huge amounts of talent to the table and I think it's a testament to Jimmy as a leader that he's been able to surround himself with that much talent for so long and keep them there.

I'm extremely happy to see that Fingers is back even if only for some shows and some songs

Why would someone insult Jake to hear more Fingers? Who knows? I believe I read a post from Crawfish last year where he (?) was advising Jimmy to dump Peter and get a "real" guitar player, so let's all consider the source here

We all have opinions Crawfish, it's just that most people put a little more thought into them before they open their mouths.

Kinda lame to me when 90% of the songs Jimmy does in concert had Fing on orig recordings. Whats up with this?
