Jimmy and Fingers had a big falling out several years back followed very likely by a few years of no contact or concern for each other whatsoever.
Flash forward a few more years - Jimmy and Fingers have some contact - maybe facilitated by a mutual friend or business associate hoping for some form of reconciliation.
Jimmy and Fingers somehow come to terms and Jimmy asks Fingers to play on a couple of tracks for the soundtrack on his upcoming movie - Fingers accepts and things go well...
Jimmy invites Fingers to play a few more songs on his upcoming album. Jimmy also discusses with Fingers the possible opportunity to join him and the CRB onstage for a few songs at a few shows. Once again, Fingers accepts and things are still going well...
Think about it, they went separate ways for several years harboring some resentment. Jimmy has likely gotten over whatever the issue was but he's not going to just jump right in and pick up where they left off. It's been a gradual transition back into the spotlight together for both of them and I'm sure there are good reasons for it whether business or personal.
But, my guess is that we will be seeing even more of Fingers in 2007
