Why is Fingers, not playing the whole show instead of 3 or 4 songs?
Kinda lame to me when 90% of the songs Jimmy does in concert had Fing on orig recordings. Whats up with this?

My take...and I am not being critical. I love hearing Fingers probably as much as crawfish.
Fingers was not playing on a lot of the songs before he left the band. Jimmy was changing directions on songs and featuring others of the Reefers.
Fingers wasn't doing anything but standing on the stage a lot of the time looking uncomfortable playing some tamborine or whatever!
It sure was nice to hear him featured on the songs that he did last night, but it is also nice that Jimmy has Sonny Landreth, Billy Payne, Jake Shimabukuro, and others who have joined in for shows. This surely gives the shows some freshness. Just like when Fingers joined them, they seemed to be energized again. As they seem to be with Jake joining in!
One of the best shows I ever saw was Fingers and Mac play at the Paramount in Austin. I can just imagine how wonderful a show with the THREE Mississippians would be!

I'm not tremendously fond of the harmonica and so I'm fine with him only appearing on a few songs....

Not really.....it's still not the Fingers Taylor Tour. It's great to hear him on a few select songs....but I don't go, or listen on RM, to hear him. I like many of the new arrangements....I like the most of the new energies. (Yes, and some I am not too thrilled with, but JB isn't perfect and I don't expect it)....but it's not ***** as that FT isn't the whole show.

whoops!

Thought it was a discussion! Just offering an opinion...Everyone has a differing opinion on who Jimmy should have playing with him. Personally I liked AmyLee and the Saxaphones. However, we can all agree we enjoy Jimmy, so we have something in common. Sorry to upset you!

you guess incorrectly, at least in my case.
your preference for Fingers over Jake is your choice, but to call Jake a "Do Ho wannabie" [sic] is also entirely incorrect.

I'm stoked to see Fingers when he comes to SD this week

I'm super-bummed that I haven't had a chance to see Jake

They both have their skills. Jake blew Rocky and I away at the Charlotte show.....classical ukulele...who'd have thought it!!!
I just don't get why some folks feel that to like one thing, they have to degrade another. It's great to be a fan of Fingers, but why insult Jake?
