Over-rated...

1. Rolling Stones - everything sounds alike.

2. Elvis Presley - good grief. Young Elvis, Fat Elvis... who cares? He "oversang" everything.

3. Brian Wilson (His SMILE album feels like he was trying WAY too hard to be smart. Loved him with the Beach Boys, though. 8) )

4. U2. Songs are all pretty much... forgettable. I'm sure Bono is a nice guy, but...
OK, I'll take the bait...

All those Rock and Roll Hall of Fame accolades for EACH of those selections, too...
they must be out of their cotton-pickin' minds, huh?!

I'm sure you're a loyal fan of Jimmy, but I'm really curious what or who ELSE could pass your taste test :-?
Challenge issued - challenge accepted. :D

In the old CD case...

Buffett/McAnally/Boat Drunks (of course.)
Bruce Springsteen
Dire Straits
ZZ Top
Johnny Cash
Twisted Sister
George Jones (saw him in concert)
Merle Haggard (saw him in concert)
Aerosmith
Oak Ridge Boys (saw them in concert)
John Mellencamp
Paula Cole
Jewel
Garth Brooks (saw him in concert)
REO Speedwagon (saw them in concert)
Def Leppard
Beach Boys (saw them in concert)
Alan Jackson
Clint Black
George Strait
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Lynyrd Skynyrd

prolly a few more, but this list is a good start.

How'd I do? :D

Janice Hello? Did you see this? I am not alone...

I don't hate them, or anybody else.
I simply don't care for their music.
And yes, it's nice that they're giving of their time to combat AIDS. That alone would not make me want to buy their music. Sorry.
There are also 80 million other Americans dontaing time and money to fight AIDS. They also should be applauded for that.

I agree. They are GREAT live....
Thw Who really rocked, still rock ... and they're not quitting yet! :D
The first time I saw The Who live was at The Concert For New York City that Paul McCartney organized after September 11. They just about blew the roof off Madison Square Garden, it was the highlight of the show.

Sorry man, just can't do it.

I can explain a bit, though...

There was a young guy back in my hometown who thought he sounded like Elvis. Loved to sing, and was SOOOOOOO BAD at it. It got especially bad when he "Elvis'd" old time gospel songs. [smilie=puking.gif]

Maybe that's part of why I still cringe every time anything Elvis plays anywhere... heck even Elvis Impersonators freaks me out. [smilie=shake.gif]

Sorry about confusing everybody, and no, I'm not PWI. :D

I consider the Stones, Elvis, Brian Wilson and U2 to be OVER-RATED.

That big long list... those are the ones I like!

Oh yeah, and Joan Jett... like her too. :pirate:

Now, what is it Rogue has to say about Joan Jett? (Seriously, I'm curious.)

Now THAT is awesome. :D

I saw JJ back in the mid 90's, and probably at her lowest point. Playing a county fair with a couple of greasy dudes on guitar to back her up. Glad she got it back together and gave you a good show.
