My first concert, great band that didn't last nearly long enough.

Neil Diamond (GOD, I want to hear him live someday)
Sonny Landreth
Little Feat
JAKE SHIMABUKURO
Fogerty is a genius. Neil Diamond was on the Today Show Friday concert earlier this year, he can't sing at all anymore. He talked all the lyrics. Sonny Landreth is one of the best guitarists I've ever seen, and I've seen Clapton and BB King. Little Feat is just a great band, but the woman singer they have now brings nothing to the table. Jake is an amazing musician.

Oasis
Alice in Chains...
Alice in Chains is the ONLY one I've heard of.
I've heard of Oasis. I think they're awful, but I've heard of them.
Now for mine:
The J. Giels Band (or is it Geils?)
George Thorogood
Nils Lofgren from The E Street Band, he had a pretty good solo career going before he joined The Boss
Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes
... and 2 others that probably not too many people have heard of:
Popa Chubby, a great blues guitarist
The Good Rats, one of the best bar bands I ever heard. I know it's not much but when I was in college they were the biggest band on LI.
It's Geils
And, quelle surprise, I loved The Good Rats as well!
I gotta agree with you on the Oasis thing ... but I'm one up on you I guess, as I am also familiar with Dispatch
I think any of the "under-rated" bands I could think of have already been mentioned .. but I've got to add one:
"Drive By Truckers"
Come on now ... you all thought of this band when you read the thread title, did you not?

Reo Speedwagon - Their best music never made it to the radio.
Supertramp - Breakfast in America was their third best album
ELO - Jeff Lynne made this band and every project he was involved in great
UB40 - Great old school reggae, bet you didn't know they had a new recording out.
David Bowie - Still an innovator in the industry today. Hasn't gotten the attention he deserves since those horrid pop '80's even now he is one of the best live performers.

Right you are - had no idea they were still around. Very cool. Album title? (Making my Christmas list!)

I'm not so sure that Shania Twain is under-rated. She is rated pretty highly by the public and by musical authorities in her genre.
I wouldn't expect her to cross out of her lane and start garnering musical acclaim in other areas.
(But she is a hottie.)

I think Styx was a little under-rated.....great in concert!!!
Its Obivous you are not from the south side of Chicago. If you went to High School in the 70s-there is a very good chance that they played your prom. Its a shame that Styx is an over-rated band out here, because when they were all together they were great.
