What a great show, we waited through the rain on the grassy mound nd it was well worth it. Jerry Jeff puts on a great show and Fingers was just icing on the cake.

Jerry said it was his first concert in Key West with an actual band, I think he had a good time. We slept in a bit and are just getting going, my head hurts a little too, dunno why

No Jimmy sightings

Post by reeferman »

I'm at MOTM as I write this. There have been no credible Jimmy sightings to speak of at this point. However, my best friend's sister's cousin's boyfriend heard from a guy who was talking to a bartender at this one place that Jimmy still might show. I'm just looking forward to seeing Peter Mayer tonight. I just need to recover from the concert Mac and the boys put on down on Duval. Fingers was there and they were amazing. 8)

It was the logo for his son's band - he showed it, then played one of his son's songs.

Great show, and Fingers being there was fantastic also! :D

We were on the front row, waited in the rain, it was an incredible show. We heard Jimmy was going to play with JJW and his plane was at the airport.
We were told that he sent a video that that he was sorry about missing last years and thanked everyone, 3500 parrotheads, for showing up after the hurricanes (last years Fantasy Fest was rescheduled and KW was hurting, still the PHs showed up) and that he was going to try to make it this year. I guess something came up.
His band was there and they were great, made it a point to thank everyone took pictures and made you feel like you were important and apprieciated.
Jimmy's concerts today sell out faster than anyones, but 90% of the people know 5 O'clock, Margaritaville, Volcano and maybe Cheesburger. Most didn't know he just had a movie out. All 3500 PHs that were at MOTMs not only saw Hoot but I'd bet bought the video(we did), and all know the stories behind all his songs, Tin Cup, the Last Mango, Tire Swing, Little Miss Magic you get the point.
I'm not an live performer(I play the Stero), but I'd think the artist gets more from the crowd than they give. Jerry Jeff appeared that he was having a blast in the rain. Jimmy woudn't have played all those years in Key West before he was a mega star if he wasn't loving it.
We are not upset with Jimmy, he can do what he wants, it was a great weekend and we had a blast. I think he missed out on a great time that would have feed his soul. Twenty five years from now he's eight-five and looking back over his career he'll think of the fans that really got his music not the guy on the front row of his concert there because of a corprate gift and didn't know he made another song other than Margaritaville. I know that guy, he's our neighbor and thought Jimmy was a one hit wonder.
We'll be at Jimmy's concert on Tuesday and we'll be in Key West next year with or without Jimmy, but Jimmy if you ever read this, let us show you the Love.
