Hey guys,
I know you've done projects where you've sent stuff over to the troops in Iraq.
One of my really close friends got there just a few days ago. Any idea of some suggestions on stuff he might need? I know phone cards are a big thing.
I could use your help!
Thanks
Melli

For treats, wrapped hard candies are good to send, (like Jolly Ranchers) but don't send chocolate!! It might melt.
Also, the post office really likes to have you be as detailed as possible on the customs form.
If you are mailing from somewhere near NY, you might want to send the package 'ground' (less expensive). You are just paying to get it to NY, where it is sent out from there, often by ship.

There are a number of sites that list good ideas, unfortunately I am at work and cannot pull them up (questionable content sic) Toiletries, eye drops, paper, magazines books, dvds, batteries, games, those dry soups, are some of the items I can remember. Google operation military mail that site might give you a good list. Basically if you can ship it, they are happy to receive it. There is another site out there that was collecting to send airconditioners to the troops, they have a great site, I forget what they were called. I think they were also collecting for an improved helment. My friend returned last month. He was happy to receive a package regularly.
