I'm going to vote after work. And just FYI, I don't think there's still that felony=no vote law, at least in PA.

I'm not a perky morning person so I didn't get up early enough to vote before I went to the train station. I'll vote when I get home tonight.

Just curious - has anyone who voted already had to show ID? I've been voting since 1972 and I can't remember the last time I had to show ID. In fact, I'm not even sure I ever did need ID. With all the talk about voter fraud the last few years you'd think ID would be required.

Voted and showed ID. I often wondered why it wasnt needed before, all you had to know was name and address. Of course when I heard the arguments here that making show an ID is a right wing racist conspiracy, I didnt think it would happen, but it did.

If they required ID, all those dead people wouldn't be able to vote....

We don't here in OK, but it varies across the nation. Federal law requires any first-time voter who did not registered to vote by mail but did not provide ID verification to show ID when they show up. But other than that, it's a state level requirement.
Five states require a photo ID (it was seven, but laws in MO and GA are currently under court challenge and cannot be enforced). 17 other states require you to show some form of identification (doesn't have to be a photo ID) that verifies your address (e.g. a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, etc.).

Most of the dead people vote absentee.
Requiring an ID is a good idea. States that require an ID to vote provide Photo ID's to the poor for free. You do need to provide 2 forms of ID when you get a job anyway. I don't see the big deal. Personally I carry an ID everywhere I go unless I am vandalizing property.

I always have to show ID in CT. They have your name and address and all on a sheet...you have to prove you are that person, then they cross your name off so you can't vote again.
My car is in the shop...hopefully will get it out by the afternoon so I can go vote.
Thank God the political adds will be done by tonight!!!

I have yet to vote but since my schedule at work does not give a clear 3 hours block I get, by law, an hour during the day to go vote and I plan on leaving work early to do so.

So if requiring ID is a right wing racist conspiracy then not requiring ID must mean the left wing is in favor of voter fraud.
