Done! We waited about 15-20 minutes. No ID required.

One of my neighbors works the election every year. She started in her 20's..she's now in her 80's :o I've never voted an election where she wasn't working...

Yes....we Michiganians will be glad to see the last of Dick Devos tv commercials....

I like the new ballots. Very easy to use!

The local sheriff was in line behind us. He had to go out on a call last week when someone calling people about a candidate for election talked to a guy who told her "I can't talk now I just killed my wife" He told the sheriff that it was just something he said because he was annoyed with the political calls

I just heard a news report that said that Dick Devos spent $25 per voter :o

well it only took 15 min today.

Today Georgia will once again make history as a Republican Governor and LT. Governor are in office after this election.

I voted a LOT of Libertarian candidates this time!

We must get together sometime.
We must have more in common than we know.
(btw - we are trying to plan a trip to NYC this December. Can I call you for lunch?)

Steven Colbert said last night that the "D" next to a candidates names really stands for "Don't Vote For ME!"

Is that really true :D

LIPH wrote:Just curious - has anyone who voted already had to show ID? I've been voting since 1972 and I can't remember the last time I had to show ID. In fact, I'm not even sure I ever did need ID. With all the talk about voter fraud the last few years you'd think ID would be required.
I always have my voter registration card or D.L. in hand when I approach the election judges. They usually ask for it and always check it when I get my ballot.

They are also predicting that he has lost....

The only ad of his that I liked was the one about the closet organizers

Every once in awhile, there's a positive story that comes out of election day.

The Denver Mayor will be leaving office in January (term limits) and returning to the private sector
( http://www.wynkoop.com/ ). He's offered to personally pay parking tickets for people that were stuck in line at the polling places.

DENVER - Mayor John Hickenlooper told 9NEWS Tuesday he was upset about all the voting problems and promises they will be fixed. more...

Glad to see you all voted. I spent 16 hours overseeing 3 precincts, and managing their equipment today while serving as an election judge for my precinct.

In Cook County, no idea is required---one is required at the time a voter registers to vote. We check to make sure their signature matches the signature from their registration, and can challenge if they are completely different.

Well, that explains some of the results right there!

And I thought in Cook County, a valid Death Certificate was proof enough. :-?
first time you've heard that one, I bet

Just kidding-- in all the irregularities I've heard, none have been in your area. Democracy lives on thanks to people like you! [smilie=hellyeah.gif]

Sounds like the new electronic voting has not been as disastrous as was feared,
although we've had our share of hang-ups in SD county.

My voting went smooth and quickly, and while SD stayed pretty conservative,
it looks like we're gonna feel a mighty wind of change blowing in our nation's capital 8)

There's a mighty wind a'blowin,
It's blowing you and me!

I'll give her a chance.
It will be pretty hard for her to screw up more than her GOP predecessors...

No ID required, however I did have to state my name and address (information I could have gleaned from any phone book).

I didn't need ID either, but I live in a small town where I knew everyone at the polls. I'm surprised that others don't have to show ID especially places like NYC; I was under the impression that it was just our town...
