CIP-Evansville Grand Opening

Post by trojan_sixtyone »

Just got back from the grand opening of the Evansville, Indiana Cheeseburger in Paradise, and it was picture perfect...

Despite very cold, rainy weather, the place was PACKED with happy, excited people. The "islanders" were all very happy and polite, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere is typical CiP style (albeit a bit more dim than most, in terms of color; more subdued hues and such).

Other than an acoustic guitar player that butchered "Piano Man", it was good. The piped in music even included "What If the Hokey-Pokey Really Is What It's All About?" and "Prince of Tides".

A tremendous addition to the CiP franchise, and will be a very popular restaurant in this Parrothead-laden area.

If any of you other Evansvillians are phlocking anytime soon, let me know!

Do you know Whitney? I met her at the Bloomington CiP last fall!
My ship she has a rudder, but I don’t know where to steer

I have an ex named Whitney, but there's no way we're talking about the same person.

I think she's the Evansville PH club president, but I'm not at all sure on that (I drink).

I've tried getting a hold of her before, but she's declined to respond to my emails whatsoever. :(

Yeah, I'll be at the Wednesday night media party with my dad. Hope it's as good a time as last night.

That acoustic guitar player sounds like someone who used to play at the one in Downers Grove

Seriously, I'm still looking for some Chicagoans who might want to do some flocking at either Downers Grove OR Algonquin (I'd prefer DG, mysefl)....

I was there again last night for the media party and it was, yet again, packed to the gills with wait-times for people not on the media list being well over an hour. (Unfortunately the same jackass singer was there again).

Going to be a big hit. Maybe that'll prompt JB to put a Margaritaville somewhere in the midwest. Indy, maybe?

There are too many Parrotheads (and the CiP's are too popular) in the midwest for it to go too much longer without a Margaritaville Cafe or Restaurant.

i went to cip saturday night with a large group from work. the atmosphere and food were excellent! the live music was just wrapping up when we got there, so the first song they play on the house system was jb....floridays, the old version. i'm thinking...wow....what a great song to start the night with! NOT ANOTHER JB SONG THE REST OF THE EVENING....very disappointed with that. my other complaint was they ran out of Island Ale....i'm thinking how can you run out of the house specialty beer?

over-all it is a very good place and i will def go back many times....but they need to play more jb.
