When WE go to Gruene Hall (  ) it is close to New Braunfels and there are lots of German places to eat there, such as Oma's Haus.

Here is a little story about going to Oma's Haus and Gruene. (Yummm to potato pancakes with applesauce.)

There is also the Smokehaus.

We used to eat at Krause's, but they have changed. It looks like it may be a GREAT German food place now.

I agree with Nancy, both places are very good. The Smokehaus has an "ALL YOU CAN EAT" side. So Santa, I know you are like me and don't want much to eat, don't hurt yourself at this one. If you eat at Oma's, there are plates phor us big ol boys and it is very very good German phood. Oma's is a must.  :P

Many folks who go to Gruene eat at the Gristmill. It is right behind the hall on the Guadalupe River. (That is Wah duh looo peee!) Tee hee!

It's beautiful on wintery days and nights with these huge, old wood-burning Texas native stone fireplaces!!! And some good ole TEXAS red wine...

We'll have to at least save room for a drink there after all the German FOOD!!!
