OK so now SA's thread has me thinking about flying my dad out here and taking him to Austin for the JJW show on his birthday. I wonder what Mrs. Play will say about that?
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

He was crazier than I ever was in his day, so I'm sure he'd fit right in.
I just don't know if it's a good idea or not, it's still too early to tell...

Kalik, now there's a good memory! :)

Dad turned me on to JJW when I was a little kid. And Waylon and Willie, and Kris Kristoferson, and Johnny Cash, and on and on and on.

"Ummm, Mrs. Play, will you babysit the boys so I can go to Austin and party with my dad?"

I'm just not sure how well that's going to go over....

Great pics, conched!

We carved our names in one of the tables at Gruene Hall .... [smilie=battingeyes.gif] [smilie=battingeyes.gif] [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Thought I'd check in before I get busy with preparing for tomorrow's company. WOW, YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN BUSY HERE!

I have never been able to get tickets for a bigger name at Gruene, they are always sold out by the time they "go on sale" to the public.

Is anybody in the AATW fan club? To get dibs on tickets?

Sometimes we would take my Mom on trips, and she would stay at the hotel with the kids when we wanted to go out without them .... just an idea.

More Dr Pepper History and Texas Escapes!

The Dublin Dr. Pepper franchise included the Texas town of Desdemona. Desdemona was originally named HOGtown.

It was one of Texas towns that went from OIL Boom Town to Ghost Town.

Mr Play! Hope you can work things out. Maybe it's time for Debbie to make it out too! Timing is important, and this is two months off yet!

If not, I'm sure seeing Jerry Jeff with your dad would be a "time to remember."
