The cartoon Off The Mark in this mornings Myrtle Beach Sun News features a "Jimmy Buffet (their spelling)" parrotheads joke. Unfortunately the website offthemark.com won't post today's cartoon for a week. Just thought I'd give a heads-up, maybe someone more web savvy can find it and post it.

Nicely done, thanks! By the way, if he wanted to make fun, it seems he could have at least spelled the name right

Bet you Bubba wouldn't let them use his name. Could be the cartoonist's way of getting around it!!

Yeah, he does. Good point.

The reason I brought it up is because I created a lot of cool "Buffettesque" stuff for my CafePress stores [links are below] and Jimmy Buffett's lawyers tried to shut me down because I used his name in my description of the store.

His name DID NOT appear in any of my artwork mind you, but they tried to shut me down just for saying "If you're a Jimmy Buffett fan like me..."

That really p*** me off. Sending lawyers after me? Really? How about a little perspective there, Jimmy.

as I understand Copywrite and trademark law

they are required by law to defend any infringement..

There was and is no infringement. That's my point, otherwise I would've been shut down.
