Heh.
I'm concerned that Buffett may not have enough money to make it through 2007. I'm gon' send a couple of dollars to 424A Fleming Street, Key West, FL 33040.
Everyone, donate if you can.
In my opinion, Buffett is greedy. BUT, there's nothing wrong with a little Greed. Greed makes the world go 'round. Ted Turner is greedy. Donald Trump is greedy. Can you be greedy AND sharing/charitable? Yes. Buffett is greedy and charitable, and I respect that.
Hell, I'm greedy. You're greedy. Without greed, there would be no progress.

I give up. I don't know. Heh. I mean, I really don't know. So, see what happens, what is said, proven, etc...and go from there.
An odd thing though...1% of WHAT? Anyone can say whatever, and maybe it really did come to 1%. But HOW MUCH is that 1% of his business? Does that make sense?
Kind of similar to when Calvin asked if there were any monsters under his bed tonight and they said Nope and Calvin says he'd hate to torch them with a flame thrower and Hobbes asks You have a flame thrower? and Calvin says They lie. I lie.

Buffett case ends after local vendor arrested
GALVESTON — An online merchant had a change in attitude Monday after a federal judge ordered him into custody.
After spending a few hours in federal custody, Robert Akard ended his resistance of a federal lawsuit brought by musician Jimmy Buffett. His decision brought an end to the litigation that began about a month ago.

EXCELLENT ! Judge Kent must be a Parrot Head. Sounds like that guy got a little 'testy' with the judge and paid for it. But he got to keep his business, which shows Jimmy's class.LIPH wrote:Buffett case ends after local vendor arrested

Some people just don't get that the law applies to them.
Sounds like Akard was quite the fool...getting himself arrested for contempt.
After that stunt there was nothing left for him to do but settle. Glad to see it didn't reqire any more court time.
And I still think Buzbee did at best only a mediocre job of representing Jimmy (especially in the court of public opinion/press).

Unfortunately the law is black and white. The law states that you must emphatically pursue anyone using your trademark or you lose it. Now Buffett could have alllowed this guy to continue if he wanted to through an agreement or monitary profit from the sale. But blame lawyers, not Jimmy.Monkey wrote:honestly how much money you think that guy grosses off that site on jb "loosely" related items? It hardly seems worth harassing the guy i seriously doubt he's cutting into jimmy's profits, but i dunno.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
Jimmy Buffett Trademark Lawsuit
I would urge all of you to take the time to review the following post on the www.UnderOneHut.com website regarding the Jimmy Buffett lawsuit:

Re: Jimmy Buffett Trademark Lawsuit
Take the time to review the entry on the website before you pass judgment. As you can see, there was no law broken. Seriously, take the time to review it.ragtopW wrote:Did or did you not know the law was being broken??BB-Buster wrote:I would urge all of you to take the time to review the following post on the www.UnderOneHut.com website regarding the Jimmy Buffett lawsuit:
