Quote of the day from Jimmy's lawyers...
Moderator: SMLCHNG
Maybe what the lawyer should have said is Jimmy doesn't need the money.
That's a loose statement. Doesn't imply Jimmy doesn't want the money. That would be, I think, the 'safer' thing to say. But then I'm not a lawyer.
So then, is this whole thing about money or about trademark abuse? Isn't that what it was about?
Now it's become similar to US+Iraq=Oil/$$$
JB+T-shirts+similar items=JB$$$
Just a guess.

my boss wanted to open up a Margaritaville in Las Vegas several years b ack... after he and his lawyers met with Jimmy's lawyers.... they said no way to the deal because of how obnoxious his lawyers were.
I don't think you can always control your lawyers if you are as big as Jimmy - but I do hope he slaps them upside the head for saying something so dumb.
although it would be nice to see some of the prices come down for tix and t -s hirts, I have never purchased a t-shirt. If I want one I have to win it

only part of the year, the other parts of the year, he has his little studio apartment in New York where he performs for change as a struggling street musician, other parts of the year, he is trying to woo the tourist in St. Barth's as they come to get away.
I'm just glad he doesn't flaunt the fact that he has money.

And Jimmy probably has more than one set of lawyers. I had to work through one set on getting the compulsory license paperwork so I could cover "Jolly Mon," and the guy I talked and corresponded with was really helpful.mermaidindisguise wrote:my boss wanted to open up a Margaritaville in Las Vegas several years b ack... after he and his lawyers met with Jimmy's lawyers.... they said no way to the deal because of how obnoxious his lawyers were.

not everyone - I was bummed to find the one on LaGrange Rd had closed the last time we were in the Midwest. Now had there been a CiP there - might have eased the loss.Quiet and Shy wrote:So that must be why old Chi-Chi's are now being converted into CiP's...that oughtta confuse some folks a bit....AlbatrossFlyer wrote:what makes this so ironic is jimmy got into a trademark legal tussle with CHi-Chi's mexican restaurants and ended up buying the Margaritaville TM from them.....![]()
