This was said yesterday, and no one said don't do it.

Bonnie - I believe those posts were telling Casey what she should to do in order to try and get her money back. :)

I just told him that people (lawyers) on Buffett News had suggested to Casey to take it to court, and that she was too nice to do so. Then I referred him to this thread and asked him to please do the right thing.

I don't consider that harassing or stalking.

Casey said it worked, but we'll see if she gets the money tomorrow.
Hey ya know what? It was probably the emails that brought this jerk out of hiding and made him think about what a screwed up thing he did.

You dont leave someone hanging for 2 months with no word or payment. If I had read this sooner, I would have been all over it. Yes, we are members of BN...but we are a group of people who extend our hands to each other first and foremost. BN has nothing to do with this. A phriend was in trouble and people were there to help.

This isnt the kind of person BN would want around here. So why care about his impression of it? He obviously didnt care enough to follow through with Casey. I say GOOD JOB!!!! :pirate:

what i'm wondering is that he said he mailed the money back in nov.. so he just plain outright LIED.....

this guy has no conscience. i wonder what position he has at the company?
hope it's not in the finance/accounting dept or r& d, if there is one.

there should be a section on bn to list people like this.. ?

yeah, i know he said he is going to pay and if he does, should one sell to him ... without knowing his history

from this point on? no. but then, to a degree (if I remember the story right, the tickets were sent without actually having received payment either), some of the problem lies with the seller trusting someone they'd never met or heard of prior to the offer to purchase the tickets.

It would be nice to go back to being that trusting, and there are days where it would make the world a lot better place if we all could do that. That said...

the alcoa guy doesn't deserve to buy tickets without prior payment, and making sure the payment clears before he takes possession if someone does sell to him.

But, Casey didn't do it. Or if she did, the guy ignored her and dismissed her.

So y'all are saying it would be all right for her to do it, but wrong for me to do it on her behalf?

I think without carolina girl's email, however right and wrong, Casey never would have heard from him again. I hope he sends the money this time and I think it's cool what carolina girl did for Casey.

Personally I think it's wonderful how BN'ers rally around PH's in need. :) And I hope it turns out that Casey receives her money. The biggest concerns is somehow BN is represented in a way that there would be any kind of legal repercutions against the site and/phjim, is all.

Ringling, of course is right......HOWEVER, I too am a naive, boyscout when it comes to selling/buying on the ticket site. I tend to be, perhaps to my detriment, too trustful....BUT I have not had a bad experience yet. I find, on the whole that the BN'ers I have dealt with to be worthy of my trust....and yes, as I stated before, I am that naive, boyscout......But that's how I choose to view the world......silly me! :D

Yea...I know I know. I shouldnt have sent the tickets without the money, but I dont have paypal (I know. I KNOW! I should...but I dont get it) and it was two days before the LV show and I was just relieved to be selling the tickets. He said he was sending the money the same time I was sending the tickets.....but we all know what happened and how it ends.

I was naive and innocent and I choose to see the good in people, even when there isnt.

And to Dutch....I might be Very much a girl but ya got a better "rack" then I! ;)

then we just wait 7-8 years, and arrange that alcoa guy accidentally gets Kenny Cheeseney tickets instead of Buffett tickets..

CaseyPhins wrote:So I sold my 10.21.06 (LV) tickets off Buffettnews.com to someone (for $140 under face value). He said he would send the money (I dont have paypal....mistake #1) and well its been a MONTH!! I've sent 3 emails and called 3 times.

So not Parrothead. He just ripped off a college student.

Never get rid of tickets til you have money in hand. And in my personal opinion Never EVER sell tickets under face value, unless your sitting in the lawn with the scums of the earth. Make all you can with tickets and make sure you are the person coming ahead, and not the scumbucket who didnt get tickets the day they went on sale,
