Our first grade son is doing a Math-A-Thon to benefit St Jude Children's Hospital

This is a non-profit hospital that treats children with cancer, AIDS, sickle cell anemia, and other life-threatening diseases. The treatments are expensive, but the hospital does not charge families for treatments not covered by insurance. St Jude is funded primarily by the donations that it receives.

Our son volunteered to participate in the Math-A-Thon at his school, so he is doing as many math problems as he can over the next 7 days. He is asking for donations per point that he earns, up to a maximum of 300 points. That's where you can help!

https://www.mathathonwired.org/Mathatho ... erId=61392

Knowing him he will earn all of the points, so figure 300 points and multiply by the amount you're willing to donate for each point. 1 cent per point would be $3 total; 5 cents per point would be $15; 10 cents per point would be $30...

The website is not set up to calculate per-point donations, only flat-rate amounts. If you want to do a per-point donation, PM me or post your pledge amount and I'll let you know when he has his point total.

Thank you for your support!

I'm not sure who Robert G is, but thank you whoever you are!!!
If it's the Coral Reefer Robert G then I'm in awe!

I told Cameron he hit $315 and he said, "Can we change the goal to $500?"

That's my boy!!!

He's up to $400 pledged and $315 received with a goal of $500!

I'll help him email his thanks out to everyone who donated online tonight, and I'll update with his final point total early next week. He's been talking about this for weeks and he has a genuine interest in helping the children who benefit from this. He really "gets it" for being only 7 years old.

Here is the website for donating and tracking his progress;

What happened to the days when you used to have to run around the track and you got money for each lap? Forget the mind, let's train the body. Let the [insert ethnic group of choice] worry about the thinking. :pirate:
