Earlier this morning (about 2 AM Eastern Time), a chemical plant in Danvers, MA blew up. It leveled some houses and businesses as well. This plant was in an area that was zoned for manufacturing/residential/small businesses. Luckily no one was seriously hurt. The explosion was so powerful that people 30 miles away heard it. It also created a 0.5 magnitude earthquake. It was felt within a 40 mile radius.
Please give thoughts and prayers for those who were hurt and those who lost their homes.

Thanks Aero...........About 30 homes are completely gone, about 90 more have some kind of damage, from personal info they are anything from blown out cellar windows to total devestation beyond repair.
My parents live the next neighborhood over from the one that was directly hit. There are about 9 houses on their street, 7 of which are in pretty bad shape, maybe/maybe not repairable, My parents and the house next to the them were the very lucky 2 homes on that particular street with little damage.
A co-worker of mine has 2 cousins that live in the direct hit neighborhood, and we believe that both of those homes, while still standing, may need to be re-built.
So on behalf of those affected I say Thanks for the phin power and prayers, and I too am keeping all these people in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Prayers and PHIN POWER!!!
Last year a house down the street literally exploded due to a gas leak, so I know how scary it is. If one house can make a neighborhood shake, then I can only imagine what an entire chemical plant could do.

Prayers and phin power to those poor people. No time is ever a good time for something like this to happen but during the holidays is even more upsetting.

Too scary! ^^^Power to those affected and I hope they get the comfort they need to overcome this disaster.
God bless those injured and losing their homes, but at least they had their lives spared by some miracle, according to how powerful this explosion and fire was.
"Firefighters from 30 cities and towns battled the blaze in this community about 20 miles northeast of Boston."
