Big Red wasn't a pet - he was one of our race horses. But that doesn't mean he wasn't loved. He was a friendly guy and wanted to follow you around. Red was at the trainers being broken so that he could start to race this spring season. Yest he was castrated and for some reason today he got very agitated and shattered one of his legs, not sure which one.
Unfortunately we had to put him down. We just got the call and unfortunately our other partners are devastated and it was hard to make sense of what's happened other than he's gone, oh so suddenly.
The last time I saw him he was running in the breeze having fun. I just know he's doing the same thing on the other side.

I understand your comment completely! These horses are part of the family!! And losing one is like losing a family member.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!

I can empathize with the loss, but I gotta say...
sounds like suicide to me.
One day, everything's there, swingin' to and fro.. the next... it's gone. It'd be enough to have me break a fetlock or two if I were in his shoes.
My condolences on your loss.

When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
