1. The undercover officers were in the strip club as part of an investigation of known prostitution and drug activity in the club.

2. One of the victims was allegedly overheard saying "Go get my gun" or "I need my gun" or something along those lines.

3. The driver of the car tried to run over one of the undercover officers.

Were the officers involved (2 of whom are black, by the way) justified in firing 50 shots? I don't know, that's what investigations are for. But given the facts as they've been reported, I don't know if I would have reacted any differently in the same situation. Especially in the neighborhood were it happened. And yes, I do know the area. It's walking distance from the Long Island Railroad station in Jamaica and I'm not sure I'd want to be there in the daylight, let alone at 4:00AM.
I agree Larry
I know enough to know that if I'm being questioned or pulled over by the cops (I had my vehicle searched once) not to make any sudden moves or say anything that might get me beaten, thrown in jail, or even shot.
Who knows what these guys said or did, but I'm guessing that the police are not gonna shoot you for no reason.

move to Atlanta, you'll change that view
I doubt I would change my views, Especially if I have not yet.
I've never had any serious problem, maybe be cause "I'm down" or have always had lots of black friends, I don't know.
But again, It's on both sides and I would not let a few jerks spoil a bunch.

Either way, I put Jesse, Al, Rush, Farakhan, and the like all together in the same catagory: windbags (as rednekk said) It seems they all have "foot in mouth" disease
I have black friends also. When I say black friends, let me make it clear these aren't as whites sometimes refer to as "tokens". These are true friends that I could count on, hang out with, have been to my house, etc. None of which hold the words of those aforementioned in any esteem. But trust me on this city. I'd change your view. Maybe not change your attitude nor would I want it to, but here, reverse discrimination is a way of life. I was always told two wrongs don't make a right, I wonder how many years ago we passed the two wrongs scenario?

Jesse Jackson's revelations of his illicit affair and resultant lovechild aren't surprising.
I remember when the story of his affair broke and I always felt these lyrics fit him perfectly.

Sexy Sadie

Sexy Sadie what have you done
You made a fool of everyone
You made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie ooh what have you done.

Sexy Sadie you broke the rules
You layed it down for all to see
You layed it down for all to see
Sexy Sadie oooh you broke the rules.

One sunny day the world was waiting for a lover
She came along to turn on everyone
Sexy Sadie the greatest of them all.

Sexy Sadie how did you know
The world was waiting just for you
The world was waiting just for you
Sexy Sadie oooh how did you know.

Sexy Sadie you'll get yours yet
However big you think you are
However big you think you are
Sexy Sadie oooh you'll get yours yet.

We gave her everything we owned just to sit at her table
Just a smile would lighten everything
Sexy Sadie she's the latest and the greatest of them all.

She made a fool of everyone
Sexy Sadie.

However big you think you are
Sexy Sadie.
COME ALONG LET'S HAVE SOME FUN,
THE HARD WORK HAS BEEN DONE
WE'LL BARREL ROLL INTO THE SUN,
JUST FOR STARTERS
