Does anyone know which is the "best" economical radio to go with. I'm looking at the Plug and play radios so I can take it from the car to my home stereo and someday a boom box. Looks like the Stratus is the cheapest one with "Univeral Connection" that will hook-up to my home stereo with a $50 kit. Anyone have any suggestions?

Long live XM!!
The people at the XM board say they get better reception than Sirius, the people at the Sirius board say the get better reception than XM.
Sirius is 100% commercial free music, XM has several music station with commercials. There is a reason why Sirius is growing a a faster rate in subscriptions than XM, Sirius is better.
More people who have XM want a merger than vice-versa, there is better all around programming on Sirius. The only advantage XM has is the MLB package now with them losing NASCAR to Sirius they have nothing unique to offer in the fall and winter months.

I don't think it will go through yet because there are only two satellite providers here in the US and I think the FTC would not allow this because it would create a monopoly.
ha they've allowed monopolies in the past under the guise of "for the better of the public good"
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
i just enjoy having it... (the XM) but i am not to happy about some of the commericals on some of the channels, so i just don't listento those. like anythng else, it is just competion no matter what... i just enjoy having music when on the road, for when i do work (in the spring-autumn) i have an hour commute (each way)... and i have three units i pay for (mine, my hubbies and my parents) and all three is less than $30 total. i miss football and will miss NASCAR. but the music is great....
I don't think either company is making money yet. Both companies continue lose money, although both appear to have beat last year's earnings. XM is probably the better company on paper, but I think it all comes down to the contracts with the automakers. Most people will subscribe to the service that comes with their new car. XM has GM and Honda, Sirius has Ford and DaimlerChrysler. Toyota offers both (no wonder Toyota does so well). I would think the SEC would nix a merger on anti trust grounds...but then again stranger things have happened. As a subscriber it would be cool to have football and baseball on one service.

That is true but from what I have seen on the financial media, there will be heavy scrutiny of the merger because of the possibility of creating a monopoly.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
