The best beer out there comes in a green bottle...

I have only had that on tap so I had no idea what type of bottle but that is surprising as they have proven than only a dark like brown bottle can filter out bad light properly. Of course, not that it's help the taste Bud, Miller and their offspring.

Maybe it's just me and that I have traveled a lot...but I cant drink domestic beers anymore. I'm into the good imported stuff now. Stuff that I have tatsed in other countries (Tiger, Sapporo, Brahma, etc).

I will have to give this Land Shark Lager a try though, assuming I can find it easily when it's released...

It'll be interesting to see how it's distributed and launched (e.g. Lone Palm Ale is only available at M'ville Cafes, and Island Ale at CIPs...but as Landshark Lager is being bottled, it appears to be headed to retail). And, it's interesting they're positioning it as a "Corona-like lager"...unless they've sold off their Corona holdings and Corona is no longer a JB sponsor, they may significantly cannibalize (and basically compete against) that well-established brand. Or, they're betting there's still significant growth in that segment...so I wonder who else they intend to take sales from? This will be interesting to watch...(and perhaps drink).

searching around, I found a bunch of the same quote: "A Corona-like, Jimmy Buffet-inspired brand called Land Shark lager"

Before yesterdays newpaper article was edited, it stated that this beer would be only available in FL and at M'ville Restaurants.

Hmmm...that wasn't in the article I'd seen. Doing a Google News search I came up with this:

"Land Shark Lager, a beer that Buffett is endorsing, will be introduced at the concert, he said, adding the beer will be available only in Florida or at ... "

So that explains the "somewhat of a benefit concert"...it's a new product launch. Maybe some other shows will be added around that time, as well, but (no offense to the United Way of Big Bend) JB's too astute a business leader to incur all the expenses of getting his band and crew together for a one-off charity event (even though the donation is post-expenses). This now makes more sense. So, the t-shirts will be available in Feb. :)

While in Vegas for the 10/28 show I was asked to be used in the filming of some footage for the next video loop for the M'ville restaurants. During the 20 second filming, The bartender asked me if I wanted a Lanshark Lager, I motioned yes, he slide it across the bar to me and I took a long drink ( holding the label towrds the camera to show the brand) It was not bad. I did find out that it shoul be coming out soon in the M'ville restaurants, and then out for the public. If you happen to be in one of the restaurants, I'll be the one drinking a landshark with a red hat, Blue Margaritaville aloha shirt, sunglasses and a few leis. They filmed this at one of the bars on the top level in Vegas.
