hey there-so ive been reading the forums on this site for a long time, been a parrothead all my life, when i saw the points made on this topic i had to register and make one of my own. i agree with most of you that buffett's voice is a little tough for the traditional national anthem; but consider this. i remember James Taylor singing the national anthem before a red sox(world series '04) game , he made it the simplest version. just him and his guitar, sang very simply didnt draw out any note at all. it was one of the best perfomances of the song i have seen, a very nice change. what is to stop jimmy from doing this? we all know his voice has never been the strong part of his music, its always been the lyrics and the touch he adds when singing it. its worked for 30 plus years so why does he need to change it now?

It's noon CST.

My guess is he'll go for the key of G. That's just about JB's range.
