Such as Royce Clayton? (Picked as an example at random)
He's been a starter for 15+ years now.
Career numbers include 109 HRs, a .258 BA, and 229 steals.
He has also never won a gold glove, and has only been an all-star ONCE.
Never been on a team that made the World Series, only on 3 playoff teams.
Sorry, Wayne. It doesn't work.
oh I have been told that more than once..
wasn't Royce on the Giants in 89??
Nope. He broke in back in 1991, became a starter mid-way through 1992.
I spent a lot of time in the bleachers back then
but.. I have killed off a few brain cells too,

I agree. My Donnie baseball push was biased and was based in pure unadulterated plutonic man love of the guy....
And I love Alan Trammell, but I can't say he's a Hall of Famer.

Guess I'll be here for a few more minutes. Commish asked me to print some extra copies of the rosters for the meeting.
Jerry...for next year, I get to keep 5 of the following (we have a $260 salary cap):
Justin Verlander $7
Huston Street $10
Joel Zumaya $6
Jeremy Sowers $4
Craig Hansen $3
Brandon Inge $3
Mark DeRosa $2
Gary Matthews, Jr. $2
Nick Swisher $13
Raul Ibanez $20
Vicente Padilla $1
Yuniesky Betancourt $3
I'm leaning towards Verlander, Street, Zumaya, Sowers, and Matthews.
What do you think?

Is there a percentage value raise each year? many leagues are like that as you know or is this their value for 2007?
Either way though I think the 5 you said are the best choices....

Those are next year's values. They don't go up between years 1 & 2. If you keep him a 3rd year, it goes up $5. No contract is longer than 3 years.

My 5 x 5 sportsline league has 7 keepers and my likely guys are:
Howard
Berkman
Dunn
Guillen, C
Glaus
Damon
Wang
Willis
Harang
Bonser
Pettitte
Rivera
Wagner
Hill, R
I have a few others too that could be keepers on sme teams but can't even crack thsi list fo maybes. Some like Howard, Berkman, et.c are obvious plus i may do soem trades but this team is great and I'd hate to lose anyone...

Yeah I was thinking along those lines but I'm hoping to trade to get some picks back. In my league you can trade draft picks for players so since I decided I was going for it all last eyar I don't have any picks until 7th round. Anything less than the title would've made it a bad choice but it worked....

Is that CBS Sportsline?
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
