PETE ROSE! PETE ROSE! PETE ROSE! Even Jimmy Buffett said so at the concert this summer! He was a great "baseball player"...bottom line! Some people in the Hall of Fame were drug users, wife beaters, etc. Much worse than gambling. Jose Canseco was also a great "baseball player", but he used steriods to aid in it. I personally hate him for stabbing all his buddies in the back, despite what they were doing was wrong. I hope nobody votes for him. I can't stand him.

OK. My original top 5
5 - Cal Ripken Jr.
4 - Dave Concepcion
3 - Eric Davis
2 - Tony Gwynn
1 - Don Mattingly

5 - Tony Gwynn - one of best pure hitters of all time
4 - Cal Ripken
3 - Andre Dawson - Why isnt he in yet?
2 - Rich Gossage - The 'relievers arent real players' thing is BS
1 - Mark McGwire - Yes he roided up (allegedly) but baseball rode him like a rented mule and to turn back on him now is hypocitical. Its not like we didnt know he was juicing up then too.

Close call on Lee Smith and Dale Murphy

Pete Rose isn't on the ballot and the only way Paul O'Neill is getting in is if he buys a ticket.

I was seriously thinking about putting McGuire in, but figured if I could vote, I would wait a few years to see how this whole steriod era plays out.

Yes: Ripkin, McGwire, Gywnn, Jim Rice, Bert Blyleven
No: Don Mattingly, Andre Dawson, (it's the hall of fame not the hall of very good) if these two get in then there should be 100 others who get in as well.
