Buffetts attend Child Advocacy Award Dinner

Jimmy and Jane Buffett attended the Ninth Annual Child Advocacy Award Dinner on December 4th. The dinner raised more than $6.5 million to battle child and adolescent psychiatric disorders. Among the items being auctioned off was a "Cheeseburger in Paradise" Jimmy Buffett concert package.

Glad to see this.

I've spent many years working with runaway and abused youth and families in crisis.

One of the most difficult populations to raise funds for are adolescents (they aren't 'cute' anymore) and in fact can be quite oppositional and defiant (on the outside), but these youth and their families are in desperate need of hard to find services.

I would encourage you, if asked, to contribute to child and adolescent programs in your community whether in dollars, in-kind donations or with your volunteer time.

And thank you Leslie, thanks for helping when and where you can. I thank the Lord there are people like you that help out with difficult situations, especially when they don't have to.
