I'd agree with you on this one.

I too like the Bing Crosby - David Bowie Little Drummer Boy
and the Carol Of The Bells, we performed it at a Christmas music program back in elementary school....way back when the schools still referred to it as a Christmas program.

I saw them on a PBS special a few years ago. I had to turn it off after about 5 minutes, it was torture. They're unlistenable. :o

Did that post get deleted? I don't see it anywhere. If so, I'll understand.
apparently the moderators are still punishing me

Actually, I'm a BIG Anne Murray fan (I'm told my father's family in Truro, N.S. knows/knew her family), and her album "Best of the Season" is one of my all time favorites.

My favorite winter song, though, is "Song for a Winter's Night" by Gordon Lightfoot (and the cover by Sarah McLachlan). *sigh*
I just downloaded this from iTunes and I can't stop listening to it.....Gordy's version has always been a fav of mine, too....but when I heard Sarah's version.....LOVE IT....almost haunting....

The whole album is awesome, I can't stop listening to it.

Many of my faves have already been listed and I could probably fill up several pages with all mine, I love Christmas music. But one of my absolute faves is John Denver's "Alfie the Christmas Tree/It's In Every One of Us" on the JD and the Muppets album. Makes me cry every time.

I'll be back with my list when I've whittled it down.

I swear this is the truth, I almost listed that song. The first time I heard it was on A Very Special Christmas compilation and that song is great.
