Prayers for Phil Kessel

Having watched most the Bruins games this year, one of the fun things was seeing Phil Kessel's rookie year unfold. He has been somewhat disappointing considering he was considered at one point to be a number one overall pick. But seeing that he is only 19, it is pretty understandable he might need a few years to become the player he eventually will be.

That said, they just broke on CBS4 here in Boston that he has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. Being a college kid myself (and actually 2 years older than him), this is absolutly terrifying news. I know I voice the opinion of all that he gets well extremely soon.

((Phil's Nuts))

Hope the kid gets well quickly. Fortunately, it's quite treatable. Notable survivors inclue Scott Hamilton and Tom Green.

I always wish-well for the Bruins. The Ray Bourque trade was a hard decision, but turned out well for Ray and the Avs.

And Lance Armstrong!

What a surreal year in Boston sports, first 22 year old Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester battles cancer and now 19 year old Bruins Phil Kessell :-?

Hopefully Kessel's recovery goes as well as Lester's has...

And John Kruck. After his surgury he wore a tee shirt in the Philly's club house that said something to the affect "I'm going to take my ball and go home."

Saw this this morning. Definitely hoping for the best.

Let this be a reminder for us guys that we need to get checked for that cancer too.
