Too many "live" songs on RM?

Is it just me, or does Radio Margaritaville play too many live JB songs? I like live songs, but I want to here the songs the way I fell in love with them originally. I loved Feeding Frenzy, because you never got a live recording of those songs, but now that every live show can be heard, it has lost its magic. Plus, it is not like the Grateful Dead, when you do not know what songs are going to be played...

Sorry about being so cranky...

Boy am I glad I don't listen to RM that often....makes people cranky

I've found that listening to songs live can give them new life, or make them better. I understand what you're saying about them playing so many live cuts, when it would be nice to hear the album versions too.

Certain songs though, for me at least, aren't that great until I hear them live. Some I prefer live, no matter how long they've tried to grow on me. Others, I like the album cut more, after hearing it live a few times.

Basically, to each their own, and apparently RM likes the live ones!!

SYKBH...

I've got the CD's if I want to hear the songs the way I fell in love with them originally.

I listen to RM to hear versions of the songs I can't buy on CD.

I concur. This is exactly why I listen to RM.

Some people like live music...others don't (sometimes to the point of being upset if they go to a live show and it doesn't sound JUST like the darn CD).

'RM isn't going to please everyone all the time...(..and they shouldn't try (as long as I am happy :wench: :P :wench: .)

I have to say that I enjoy Jimmy better live. I just like his total freedom of expression when he is live and changing the words to fit the mood. To me it is just amazing how quich whitted he is.

I'm with you. I love the well-rehearsed ad-libs. :D

Knowing that he switches up Volcano the most often when playing live, I (seriously) wonder how he gets the "customized" lines correct for each venue.

(Writes 'em on a post-it and tapes it to the guitar???) [smilie=think.gif]

I am so glad someone finally brought up this topic. I have been thinking the same thing about too many 'Live' songs being played on Radio Margaritaville. It's Buffett, just the same, but I would like to hear the older songs as they were recorded on the albums.

Teleprompter
Wondered about that, but I've never seen one at the concert.

'Course, I'm on the lawn, and... distracted... :pirate:

Is there actually a teleprompter at each concert?

I don't know about each concert, but I've seen one a few times.
