A post by Just Ducky in another thread got me thinking..... just how many of us have seen Fingers Taylor play with the CRB and how many never have?

So?

**edit** I can't edit the poll itself, so please vote for where you first saw Fingers play, if multiple answers apply. :D

In the semi-old days (my first JB concert was 1988) and this year (Madison Square Garden).

P.S. - I voted "in the old days" since that was first.

If you saw him in the old days, vote that way.... I'm interested to see where people first saw Fingers play

1980 Meadowbrook Ampitheatre near Detroit, MI on the CT Tour! In fact, I think it was the last show of the Coconut tour. The last time was Jazz Fest 1998 because when JB came to the NO Arena in, when was that, December 1999? I think Fingers had quit already.

JD, I think your post in the other thread about people not remembering that Fingers played not only harmonica but also percussion, and that he sang backup vocals, is important, because I think there are plenty of folks around that don't realize that.

The first time I saw Fingers and Jimmy play together was in 1979.

SGH - I think you're right and I agree with you when you said that I pointed out that Fingers did more than just harmonica. I think he did the same on the records as well. People have forgotten or more likely simply do not know that Fingers did do other things. I think in the Live By The Bay or whatever it's called - that VHS live show ha ha - Fingers plays percussion on Volcano and who knows what else.

I think. I haven't seen it in eons. And that's the only live footage with Fingers isn't it? It's sad that the Fruitcakes Live video never came out, the one filmed in Ohio that used to be played at the Marg in the French Quarter, beause that has Fingers in it.

Fingers also has his fair share of solo records which I'm guessing are kind of hard to come by at this point.

I saw him in the old days ... and hope to see him again before I die! It's the way I learned to love Jimmy ... with the harp. :D

I've seen him both, old days and recently. And 'solo', or without Jimmy. That was recently too. He was everywhere I went in Vegas this year....except M'ville where I saw the rest of the band standing around and Nadirah on stage....which was great too.

Wonder if Fingers will be in Aspen? I could check his schedule, but I bet someone else gets that done before I do. And I don't think any Aspen area PH clubs have requested he show up. That seemed to be the key for this years appearances with Jimmy.

I've also seen Fingers play with others and solo. I was fortunate enough to see him play a straight blues gig.... *awesome*!!
