I really can't rank his albums... yeah, there are some with songs I could really do without, but there's at least one song on every album that I love.

I had to chuckle.... By most accounts, the first (Thurs) Irvine concert last spring was spectacular (I was one who thought so). Yet the set list included *every* *single* song from SYKBH..... I suspect the issue for most people isn't with SYKBH itself, but with attendees who don't know many (any?) other JB songs beyond SYKBH and are often there only for a drunken party....
fixed it for you dear. :)

One person's "clever" is another person's "atrocious" especially when it comes to this song.

BIBOMO is my favorite from TTWWY. PATEOTW falls somewhere below WITW, EOTP, and Hula Girl at Heart, but I still really like it. Yep, it's goofy, but that's part of WHY I like it. It lightens the mood and isn't meant to be anything but pure fun.[/quote]

Ok so Jen, this is so funny, how many people are going to know what the heck your talking about. I had to think way too much and gave up....lol

I don't know what's been wrong with Jimmy lately.
He hasn't had a good studio album since "Take the Weather With You."

Correct, I was talking only studio albums, not compilations or even live albums for that matter. If we were all to rate the comps, all 2 of them (I'm not including those others that are all over the place but the 2 JB had a hand with in releasing that I know of) I would think people would rate MMIM way above SYKBH.

Not only because all of the SYKBH are on it (aren't they? ha ha) but it's got WAY more good/great songs on it.

I like the songs on the album, but i wish Jimmy ahd taken more time on it. the songs would be better if someone else had sung them, or if Jimmy at least pretended to be excited. He sounds so dull and bored, especially on PATEOTW. thats why its much better live.
PHINZ UP!!

And theres this place you can go, called Tiera Del Fuego, down in the southern hemisphere.
Amor, Amor!!

Its theses changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes, nothin remains quite the same.....

Jimmy, take more time on your CDs..... Jimmy hurry up and get your next CD out.... Jimmy, spend more time on the road.... Jimmy don't record so many songs by others, take more time to write more original material....

Good grief people! Let's be thankful for what we have! (Ooops, wrong holiday!)

Merry Christmas all . . . .SPH

JustDucky wrote: I think Jimmy still has some things to say, as he did in BIBOMO. But then when he goes off on the silly PATEOTW in a manner that is equal to the songs that should have never been done like Math Suks, Cultural Infidel, Take It Back, Turning Around, Vampires Mummies...it makes me wonder where his priorities are with his songwriting. When I burn me a copy of TTWWY it will not have PATEOTW on it.
What you consider silly, I feel is an expression of the depth of Jimmy's songwriting. We need more silly in this serious world. When we lose the ability to laugh at ourselves and be silly, we have truly lost a lot.

What I meant by silly was...not very good. I guess I have to not use 'silly' since a lot of good songs are silly.

I find it odd that these types of songs are so heavily defended.
