Almost every cat owner I know, I can walk in and tell if they have a cat.
It was excrutiating when we were looking to buy a house because strong cat smell automatically excluded any house from our list.

Same thing with dogs, I walk into a dog owners house and want to gag but the owners don't even notice it.

I've had two.....now I have four.
three dogs, four cats...leave for 3 or 4 days, cats hardly notice you're gone they are so very independent...
dogs are needy...even the big ones, we've got one of each size, small, med, and large (75#)....
dogs are good companions but extremely dependent, unlike cats.
luckily we live where the cats can be outside, they go in and out just like the dogs do...
it's somewhat amusing that certain dog people have to put down cat people, most cat people accept it as only a personal preference...that pretty much sums it up..

love dogs and am known as Auntie Ellen to many, but hate most cats.
And when my allergist tested me, he tested 32 things--I was allergic to 31 of them with cats being the strongest reaction.
The non-reaction---DOGS!!!!!
