I saw the first two Rocky movies...the first was a fabulous story. I'm a sports fan but have never liked boxing.

Rocky Balboa
Obviously the new Rocky film has a HUGE promotional budget...the ads are everywhere. So, will you go see it?

I have absolutely no interest in seeing this new movie and think it's rediculous to have yet another story about this guy getting in the ring

The only other male face that's has had as much work done as Stallone's is Kenny Rogers and I wouldn't pay money to see either of them. Stallone's wife pitches face creams on HSN....maybe he should have tried using some of them before going under the knife so many times. He is just scary looking. Have you noticed that the camera doesn't shoot him straight on very much, and when it does, the shots only last a mili-second? The cameraman prolly goes into shock and has to be revived after seeing THAT through a wide angle lens!
(Ok, besides Michael Jackson has had more work than either of them.)

I wasn't a big fan of the first 37 Rocky films so I won't be going to see this one. As an aside, I saw Sylvester Stallone last Friday when I was leaving work, he's older than I am and he looks it, except for the lack of grey hair. How believable can he be as a boxer?

When they first announced that a new Rocky movie was coming out, I thought it was a ridiculous idea. Since then, though I've been coming around. The story line sounds more plausible than I first thought, and it's been getting surprisingly good reviews.
My dad is a big Rocky fan - so much so that we're getting him the Rocky boxed DVD set for Christmas. So... I expect that we'll add a little to his Christmas present and also take him to see the new one.
Sometimes these things work out. I remember after the first five Star Trek films, I thought the franchise was way past dead.... but... Star Trek VI (for me) was the best of the bunch.
(although since then, Star Trek is back off the tracks.

The first two were great. The third and fourth were good. And the fifth one sucked. But this one looks great. I haven't heard a bad word about it, anywhere. I'm excited about this one, I think it will be a great end to the series.
I heard they shot two endings to this I'm anxious to see which one they go with and what the other one is.

Saw the first 3 (of how many? 5?). Had no interest in this one until I watched Ebert & Roeper (some woman filled in for Ebert, who's still ailing). They gave it HUGE reviews, absolutely loved it, saying it was a great way to wrap up the story after the recent sub-par Rocky films.
So I voted Yes, looks good. Hope to see it over the holidays.

Some excerpts from the Free Press:
- A franchise that had been brain-dead since the third installment...
what sounds absurd in print--a 60 yr. old...gets back in the ring...is thoroughly, satisfyingly enjoyable on-screen...makes you feel energized and ready to take on the world when the workout is over.
...almost every punch thrown...emotionally connects, from maintaining the saga's fairy-tale tone to reprising those famous training collages, but with a last-round bittersweetness.

Re: Rocky Balboa
Star Trek, where the characters age, evolve and don't have an occupation dependent on high-level physical conditioning and competitiveness is one thing...but a competitive 60 year old boxer??? I have the same reaction as seeing that Twisted Sister "O Come All Ye Faithful" performance from Leno..."You can't be serious??!!?"
